If you had to choose between Shandon and Cuttino, who would you pick?

That's a heady, passionate post jcage.

    ...bare your sleeve anytime.

I'd like to emphasize my take on how repetitions were so important to Mobley. You always here about QB repetitions. IMO, success for primary scorers is focus and reflex. Anyone who has driven the lane without knowing it was clear yet, but with full confidence your primary defender is too slow (and already beaten) and the other defenders will now have to commit and you can react to beat them, know how Mobley's success is a combination of skill and quick-reaction. Ball like that is dependent on driving repetitions and especially from seeing what the game looks like in the air at the rim with a hand in your face.

IMO, Mobley's finishes improved so much towards the end as well as his reflexes for taking what the defense gave him, I can't bare to let someone leave who is just beginning to get comfortable via repetition.

No fear, skilled-determination and repetitions can make a great scorer. Just ask Kurt Warner.

Everytime we start talking about rebuilding we start talking about trading I think Francis,Cuttino & Shandon are a very good nucleus and I would'nt even talk of breaking them up! True the Rocket's are in need of another good player but we need to find another way to get em! Say--- trade Cato if anyone is crazy enough to take him!

    Oak,

It's just an Access database I'm still building (about to rebuild as a matter of fact). All the queries are hand-entered by me on the fly (no kewl interface or anything to it [IMG]). I'm hoping to put it online for anyone to use by sometime next season. Still working on it...

I can't take credit for the data, though. All that credit goes to the tireless efforts of Mr. Doug Steele. I believe he hand-enters all data year-round. Simply incredible. All I do is create queries to update the database for stats that don't already exist (such as the calculation of the IBM Awards, the Pole Ratio, assists-to-turnover ratio, etc.).

First of I would hate to have to think the Rockets organization will be faced with this situation. But if I had my say so, I would pick Mobley in a heartbeat. There was NO ONE in the league that could stop him one on one, Kobe Bryant included. He demanded the double team as much as an Iverson or a Carter.

Shandon might play a little better defense, but he was sometimes inconsistent, but he does a lot of the little things that a lot of players won't or can't do.

I really don't want to lose either player. As a matter of fact I really don't want to lose any of the key players except Bryce Drew. I believe we should have gotten rid of him a long time ago.

Ok, just my take on the past season but....

Saying Anderson plays "a little better on Defense" is like saying Shaq plays a little better on Offense than Matt Geiger.

It is important to remember defense wins championships-or at least that what they say-and while offense is important, we already have that in francis. Most of our other so-so players happen to be so-so because they are somewhat skilled offensively-Walt Williams, Matt Bullard, Kenny Thomas, etc. Anderson is one of the few defensive minded players on the team--Cato could one day be an awesome defensive force--so there is no way we would win as many games without Shandon. Plus, on the bright side, he has some pretty good offensive games sometimes too, and he is extremely smart and comes from a good Jazz system.

On the other hand, Cuttino is that spark that we need, but if you trade Anderson and Cuttino starts in his place I really dont think he is that effective. I think like Rodney Rogers, his role on this team is amplified sooo much because he is an awesome sixth man.

It is a hard choice, but if it came down to it I would keep Anderson---fortunately we have them both and Cuttino can continue to be that spark we need.

The cat is more of a scoring threat, and has the best first step in the game. Anderson is still got mad skills.
