it's times like this i wish glenn beck was right and obama was planning on putting these ****ing whack jobs in internment camps.
Obama's team is brilliant here. No one who would ever vote for anyone other than a Republican straight ticket actually believes any of this birth certificate crap. Because of that, he can not be damaged at all by refusing to release his actual official birth certificate. But, by refusing to release it, he actually gains something because these cooks on the right who keep making it an issue only further paint themselves and the Republican party by extension as out of touch idiots. The birthers wonder why he won't release the document, but at this point, why would he? Caving to their demand only makes him look like he is bowing to some sort of public outrage. By continuing to handle it the way he is, he is manages to give 0 credibility to the issue while at the same time marginalizing the right wingers. Kudos.
O RLY? is an internet meme similar to the walrus and his bucket. It stands for "oh really?" madmonkey37 beat me to posting the pic. And that's the first thing I thought of when I saw her name during an interview clip. I'm surprised the host could stop himself from making that face and saying "oh really?" over and over. I don't know if I would have been able to.
What do you have against cooks? They're just trying to make a living in the competitive food service industry.
Let's not forget that even if he had spent all that money, it would be well spent. TJ clearly knows nothing of the law. There have been a number of these cases and Obama obviously would have to hire legal representation, which he did. They've filed motions to dismiss, which are based only on the law and the facts alleged in the complaint. Essentially, "even if everything they say is true, they've got no legal standing." This is the quickest way to dispose of a case. Obama cannot provide a copy of his birth certificate along with a motion to dismiss. The court would in all likelihood convert the motion to dismiss to a motion for summary judgment which takes place after discovery. This would allow a plaintiff to conduct discovery against Obama as well, which would cost more time and money. TJ's insistence on this point, as well as his insistence that a certification of live birth is not a birth certificate despite it being exactly what the state of Hawaii gives you when you request a birth certificate, demonstrates his utter stupidity and complete lack of credibility.
