How frustrating has this season been to watch?? 3 games vs the last place Brewers: 1 for 18 with runners in scoring postion 20 men left stranded on base Nuff said.
Ya it sucks....but I'm going on Saturday night...bullpen seats...ICHIRO BABY!!!! I'm telling you...throw in the towel...tank for the contraction draft. Vlad for 2003!!! Seriously, something needs to be done about the outfield. We need a CF who can cover a lot of ground...and D Ward and Hidalgo aren't playin all that great...Well screw it. We need help in the rotation, bullpen, lineup...everywhere.
Exactly Drew, I was going to post the exact same thing tonight after I saw those stats, but I was going to call it "The Astros suck extremely bad". There has been not enough hitting period, let alone in the clutch. I'll leave the pitching alone, due to the age. But even if they were pitching good they would have no run support.
The Astros might be as bad as the Rockets were last year, and they don't have the excuse of injuries. Hell, the Texans might be better than the Astros.
If the Texans are better than the Astros come football season, I will be doing a dance of joy every Sunday.
No injuries for the Astros? What team have you been watching? Shane, Dave, TJ, Linebrink, Lugo, Brocail, Bagwell, BL Hunter, even Merced have all been injured this season.
Drayton McClane really SUCKS!!! It's been three years now since McClane was given that brand-spanking new stadium with ALL the necessary revenue streams flowing $$$ into his pockets. YET, he continues to handicap Hunsicker by imposing a "salary cap" of $60-63 mil for the team. I don't know about you guys but I'm tired of McClane's "smoke and mirrors" ways. It's cool to "rent" players for the stretch drive BUT we don't hold on to them for the next season! When was the last time the 'Stros got a "prime" player at the BEGINNING of the season? Hell, I don't even blame Jimy as much as McClane becuz Hunsicker REALLY wanted Clint Hurdle for the job but was overuled by McClane cuz McClane wanted someone w/ more experience(another example of how Hunsicker has been handicapped). BOTTOM LINE: McClane is making $$$ hand-over-fist in the new stadium but still has the SAME team payroll when they were at the Dome and losing money. All I'm advocating is having a payroll around the $68-72 mil range especially since McClane can now afford it!
