The NBA will allow advertising on practice jerseys this season, according to a report in USA Today.

The NFL is allowing teams to sell advertising space on their practice jerseys as well.

Article mentions how Cavs won't be able to afford two marquee players next season at the moment with the cap lowered as well. And I hope the jersey ads aren't a peak into the future.

    Ummm.. Wow...

Hopefully the NBA jerseys don't end up looking like the WNBA jerseys. :(

I think he's trying to say major American sports like: Football,Baseball,Basketball, etc. It might not be a bad idea since it gives owners a little bit more money to work with and spend back into the team or just keep like a cheap bastardo.

Are the practice jerseys also supplied by Reebok? I wonder if Chinese sports brands can also apply.

This has been going on in other sports who have more money than the NBA forever!

I hope the NBA doesnt do it, it will mess the jerseys up a big, but it wouldnt be the end of the world.

Who even sees practice jerseys regularly enough to warrant putting advertising on them? I guess they are relying solely on the media to get pictures out onto news sites, blogs, and fan sites like ours...?

As long as the NBA jerseys stay untouched. I'll be fine with it. Why not just advertise somewhere else? NOT ON THE JERSEYS PLEASE.

I wouldn't mind seeing an ad on an NBA jersey. As long as they have a contract tht runs for several years and keep it down to one or two (like the Argentinian National Basketball team). Give owners more money to invest into their teams making the teams better. Win-win.

The sad part is that they are going to mandatory long sleeves and pant legs, a la NASCAR. :(
