McCants is almost the exact same player as Wafer. Both are volume shooting malcontents that rarely look to get others involved, only play defense occasionally and both display incredible tunnelvision. That said, every team could use a player like that. Especially a team like us with our two best players sidelined. I still wonder where the offense is going to come from. At least with a player like McCants or Wafer you can put the ball in their hands and make something happen (for better or worse). Who would I rather have? McCants is probably a little better plus his 6'11" wingspan is intriguing, but I am more enamored with Wafer's lightening quick foot speed than I am with McCants and his physical attributes on paper.
I think he'd be a nice p/u. Everyone that questions players D should first think, what kind of system they came up learning thru their rookie season & what type of coaches they've had. Rashad had been very good defensively up until he got drafted by the Wolves. He has great length and athleticism and unlike Wafer is a willing defender, on the right team. If we resign or let Wafer walk, looks more like the latter at this point, there is going to be one good thing to come out of it. No matter what if you're playing under Coach Adelman you better play some D and if you can't you better learn quick if you're planning on seeing minutes on the Rox. If we'd sign McCants he'd be great at doing what he does and that's score, play d? I think it can be done.
Defense is all about will. Its either you play defense or you do not. There is no system that will make a player willing to play defense. Just look at Wafer. And when did McCants played good defense? Collage? The more videos I dig up, the more intriguing he become. He can really score. Passing will come when a player mature. But defense is not something you can actually learn when you are 24.
Yes college. You compeletly ignored the fact that I stated coaching as a reason. How many coaches that Rashad's had where actually defensive minded coaches of some sort. He is willing but if you don't push the emphasis on a player who would really care? Wafer can't play D regardless, you can tell by the way he moves laterally and the stifness that his body shows, I'm thinking that's why the Rockets are taking their time on resigning him if they're even thinking about it.
Okay, replace Cook with Burdinger in that trade i proposed below to make it more interesting for the blazers.....but from what i heard there looking to get rid of one of their 2 guards b/c Roy, is looking to get a big chunk of the Minutes, so either Webster or Fernandez will have to go.... http://www.blazersedge.com/2009/7/30/968831/rudy-and-roy ... in the trade Machine it says they still have 7+ Million in Cap Space, i maybe wrong though.........
If we can get him for a bargain, then I say why not. He can play the back up two, and for some reason I don't really have a good feeling about Jermaine Taylor...
Hmmm, for me the coaching and system is the same thing. If you so incline to it, then i'm sorry. It be great if he have the will to play defense as I just notice that he will shoot with his right and prefer to finished at the rim with his left.
I love his personality, I really respect the basketball figure of Rashad McCants. Question is would he be satisfied with the contract that Rockets would offer to him? He's talented and all but he might try for some more money elsewhere.
He would be a valuable asset to our team. Once you consider we can get him for practically nothing, and he would be that one on one scorer we're looking for. He's also a good passer so I think he would be a great fit for the "yet to be seen" Rick Adelman offense.
Scrubb.Scrubb. A scrub is a guy who thinks he's fly And he's also known as a busta He cheats on that pig Khloe Kardashian And his inconsistency is merely a prrojection Of his game, on the court he sucks Not only is he moody, he's kind of short He can't go left and his handles are whack He can't even finish in traffic! Sittin on the passengers side of his best friends ride Try-in to holla at me
It's a song by an African-American trio of girls. They're known as TLC. Try busting this flow with the song playing, or by all means make a better one.
Should of specified a little more. Most of the defensive(skills) duties are handled by the assistant coaches. Just like Elston, Sickma, and Adelman Jr. for us. He can play defense just doesn't have to, that's why he's labeled a scorer.
More talented? Absolutely. All Carney knows how to do is run & jump plus spot up for three pointers. Think: a homeless man's version of Travis Outlaw. McCants can actually handle the ball a little bit and do some other things that Carney cannot.
