I get some ass with him on 2K9. I would love for us to get him, a guy his size who can play PG is pretty rare nowadays.
While I wouldn't mind picking up Sun Yue, it would be with the knowledge that he very likely wouldn't pan out. I've seen him play a fair amount internationally and while he has some talent he also has a shaky shooting touch and is inconsistency galore. He's not the best at protecting the ball either. I think Sun Yue is about <= to Shaun Livingston, but is a better defender. I don't see Morey picking him up but I think if a team gives him a chance he's a decent third point guard because of the matchup problems he can pose.
You want to field a team that dwarfs the opposition without considering the talent... well, at least, 2-5 are good. Are you Chinese?
our team wont blow up we have a lot of fiesty players on the rockets, we took lakers to game 7 without 2 stars thats sais a lot... all im saying is dont be surprised if morey picks sun yue up to a non-guaranteed deal as a 3rg pg to develop him.... im not saying its gonna happen but if morey does sign him then i wanna hear what you have to say about it... besides these guys play in the nba right?? it took brooks time to develop and in no way am i comparing yue to brooks but sun yue could develop into a solid role player down the road..... at 6'9 with pg skills i'd say its worth a gamble....
"Yue features rare abilities for a player listed at 6-9. He plays like a true point guard, and a talented one at that. He’s one of those extremely smooth players who evolve on the court with a certain flair, for whom the game comes naturally and just flows with the ball in his hands." - Draft Express
I seriously think we need to grab Sun Yue. A 6'8" point guard would have the ability to see over most opposing PGs and with his eye-mounted laser cannon he could shoot laser holes through taller players who impede his view of the court. He can rebound and defend in a superior fashion because he will be matching up against players who are almost always smaller than him and with his medical certification and his supergenius IQ he may find a cure for cancer if he's given a chance in the league. Get it done Morey.
tofu i agree a 100% with u... it wouldn't hurt to have a 3rd pg that can possibly develop into a shaun livingston down the road... time will tell.... good looks though iv'e been getting bashed for even mentioning sun yue haha....

Yeah our lineup kind of sucks right now until we get a real center but the only thing I did was replace Brooks with Yue and last year Brooks was an unknown and a late first round draft choice who had zero trade value until the series with L.A.. This is by no means an ideal lineup for me. If it were up to me I'd trade Battier and Brooks for a legit center and then I'd have Yue gradually step in to the starters role behind Lowry. No matter what we do with the point guard position it all really depends on if Ariza really can establish himself as a scorer and if either Chase or JT can step up. But guys lets get this straight, the current Rockets roster and then one I just listed are both incredibly incomplete so relax.
I don't mean all of them for a center it just means it could be any of them or any combo of them and who knows who we would get and who we would trade. If we could trade Battier to Por for Bayless/Fernandez/Outlaw (any combo of the 2) and then flip Brooks for a center that would be ideal but who knows what would or could happen. This is all hypothetical so just relax dude.
Regardless of what you think. We need the speed and scoring Brooks provides. Speed is key in this league...
"Regardless of what you think. We need the speed and scoring Brooks provides. Speed is key in this league..." Yeah just look at all those Golden State and Phoenix titles......speed...hah...more like defense wins championships little boy.
So Sun Yue is the answer? :/ We're not going to win a championship this year regardless. Just wait for Yao to come back fire up another run, and if that fails we rebuild. SUN YUE IS NOT THE ANSWER.
I'd be very surprised if he winds up with the Rox or any other NBA team for that matter. The dude scored a total of 6 pts the entire season, he'll be showing off that ring in China next year.
OMFG wht has this thread gotten so many response. Over 4 pages long for a guy no one has eve seen play.
"Little boy"? You are a trip! You want to put a guy that doesn't even belong in the NBA straight into the Rockets PG rotation? Who's the little boy here? How in the world do you know that Yue can even guard NBA PGs? Most of them would leave him in the dust and the only opposition he would offer is fouling. You are assuming he can defend NBA PGs just because he is tall? Please explain.
