A lot of people forget that among the very few games Mac played last year he got a triple double and a near triple double. Then after playing for two weeks he claimed to be exhausted and in pain. Whether he was lazy, out of shape, or seriously injured doesn't matter, but it showed that he still has the talent to be all-star level.
This is completely unrelated, and I didn't want to start a joke thread out of this, but according to the all trustworthy source of twitter Mo Williams is headed to Houston "Yeeeeeeeah, Houston, what it do baaby." http://twitter.com/mogotti2
Where is the love from the owner and/or DM the GM McG is claiming? He is the 'ignored one' du jour, not the 'chosen' du jour of yore ? What is the truth ?
I just watched that video... and honestly... he looks a little bit more fit... from the videos.. a little more willing.. a little more of that "stuff" in him that was there in 04,06, and 07. Hopefully we'll get something out of him this upcoming season.
/barf that guy has lost all credibility. all i hear is yap yap yap blah blah blah. i wish him a healthy recovery but as far as im concerned... he's done as a rocket
McGrady will score 30 at least once in the upcoming season (obviously provided that he actually plays a decent amount of games.. like at the very least a third of a season). Book it.
i guess i don't understand how people can really question t-mac when the dude ended up having microfracture surgery, unless you subscribe to some demented philosophy that he didn't actually need the career-threatening surgery, but had it to shut up his critics.
It's funny, I was wondering about Cleveland the other day as a trading partner---IF the trade involved Tracy and Mo Williams. You'd have to throw a lot of spare parts around, but Ilgauskas is an expiring contract, and would more than fill the void at center for a year, considering he and Shaq make for an EXPENSIVE tandem at center. Anyway, it's a long summer, but Mo Williams might very well be "headed to Houston" so that he can go visit the Kemah boardwalk, so I'll just let this one go.
I'll take McGrady with my 7th round pick in my fantasy league this year. Oddly, I'm buying in his trash talking, yet again.
McGrady saying these things means nothing to me until I see something on the court. For every time he has complained about not being 100% because of injury, there has been a "I feel good, I feel like my old self again" So I'm sorry, but I'm holding off on sipping my Kool-aid for now. Nothing would make me happier than him going back to old form though, how cool would that be?
Its good to see we've got some ppl here with a brain rather than making uneducated accusations of mcgrady being weak, etc. I'm not the biggest t-mac fan, but an injury as an injury. Yao couldnt play through his either. Nobody goes through surgery unless its necessary..ESPECIALLY a microfracture. Just to please everyone else, he tried to come back much quicker than he should have. He played through pain every night (when he did play). I had surgery over a year ago to repair an ACL, MCL, and LCL; and when you try to come back sooner than your should, you can do more damage than you can good...see Gilbert Arenas.
Then maybe T-mac shouldn't make false statements like these when it's clear in the end he's really holding the Rockets back.
I really hope Mcgrady plays hard without injuries this season. It is his contract year and as long as he's a Rocket, I will cheer for him.
