    I have no idea why people continually mention his salary as if he's been making a flat salary the duration of his contract. Do people not know that most nba contracts escalate in pay? For max level players, the same applies and it is generally assumed that as they get older, they won't be the same player as they were 7 years prior.

    Even more puzzling are the people who mention how much McG could make for his new contract (upwards of $25MM). While true, its completely unrealistic, since neither he, nor the brass, will ever scribble that figure out.

    The way I see it, most max players are typically underpaid at the beginning and overpaid at the end of their contracts. It all balances out. McGrady was paid as one of the top players in the NBA, and when playing, which is every year but last, he has been exactly that.

    If you look back at last season, the Rockets would have like 5 players in the top 10...
