Didn't see this posted yet but Jim Johnson passed on this afternoon. I have to believe the guy struck fear in the hearts of offensive coordinaters in the NFC with all his blitz packages. Just a brilliant defensive coach and a big loss for the Eagles and the NFL. RIP Coach. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5i7siH0q4LEzS_5C-RjF079Bla6dgD99NONH80
Damn. The Eagles are on the verge of big things this season. He will be greatly missed. Fly Eagles Fly On the road to victory Fight Eagles fight Score a touchdown 1-2-3 Hit 'em low, Hit 'em high, And we'll watch our Eagles fly. Fly Eagles fly on the road to victory.
RIP Coach Johnson, it's a very sad day in the Eagles nest. McDermott takes over now and that worries me Hopefully he'll put those worries behind me quickly.
Sad indeed. RIP to Coach Johnson. He the best D-Coordinator in the league, hands down. He was always prepared and always aggressive. He will be missed for sure.
Just look at the front seven he has to work with in Pitt and compare that to the front seven in Philly. Aside from Eagles fans, and hardcore NFL fans, I guarantee you no one can name the starting LBs for philly
Are speaking of last year or over his 10 year period? Over his 10 year period, Johnson did have some talent on the line and in his LB corps. Trent Cole is a good DE who has had 21 sacks over the past two seasons and with his relatively young age could still become an elite pass rusher. Bunkley and Patterson are Pro bowl caliber DTs too. I'm not saying as a unit it is better than Pittsburgh's but it's not too bad either.
Dawkins is in Denver now. Your back four are going to look bad if your front are bad and don't get any pressure. As stated above, I think the Eagles had a pretty formidable front although the LBs are the weak spot.
I was just speaking in terms of comparing them to Pitt's front seven from the last couple of years. Eagle's D-line is no joke. Trent Cole is a beast, and the tandem of Bunkley and Patterson are underrated.
RIP. A defensive genius and I always enjoyed watching all the different blitz packages the Eagles had.
