The Browns were never an AFL team. They were established in 1946 as part of the old AAFC (All-America Football Conference). They were merged into the NFL for the 1950 season along with the SF 49'ers and the original Baltimore Colts (who folded the next season).

They, along with the Steelers and the 2nd version of the Colts, agreed to move to the AFC in 1970 to even out the conferences due to the AFL-NFL merger.

Of course, the result of all this still means that Bud Adams is an ignorant, ungrateful douchebag.

Which people in Houston were those?

Some pretty cool shirts in the link, btw.

bull****. you feel that way, you don't speak for every single oiler fan, especially me.

did I want the oilers to leave?

    no.

    did they leave anyway?

    yes.

    move on.

Oilers weren't our team. They have always been Bud Adams' team. He owns them. There weren't a ton of people begging the Oilers to stay when they were leaving, so let's not start this love affair now. I have good memories of them being here, but that was in the past.

With that said, that T-shirt is pretty sweet.

I don't ever want to hear the words "Oilers vs. Bills" again.

This makes me angry. They are NOT the Oilers and never will be.

I don't give a frog's fat ass what those perennial playoff choking mountain-trash hillbillies wear. The "Oilers" are dead to me.

I would probably be pissed off if we didn't have our own team. But we do, so who cares?

It's like if your wife/girlfriend dumps you. You are sad for a while, then angry, then after a while, you MOVE ON. Then you find a hotter wife/girlfriend and forget all about the old one.

yeah, except, well..... the ex is currently much hotter.

i've made my peace with it. as mclain has said - it's cool that the oiler legacy will be celebrated. one day, i'm going to create a home for all the voluminous oiler history we had on the old site - that stuff was great and is really unique and should not buried on my computer.

Eh..beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess..

Maybe I'm biased, but I think we have a better foundation than the memphis hillbillies.
