What is your favorite Rockets offseason since 2000. From the offseason to drafting Yao or to the season where we traded for Mcgrady or to the offseason where we picked up Artest.

I would have to say mine was in the 2004 offseason when we traded for Mcgrady. I thought that offseason was really exciting.

Not this one for obvious reasons....When we picked up Artest, that was a fun offseason

The Artest offseason was awesome. I was so excited thinking about our big 3 with Tmac, Yao and Artest. But the offseason when we got Steve francis, Bonzi Wells came back healthy and we traded for Scola was a good one too.

Didn't we get Otis Thorpe (formerly of the Kings) in an offseason, let's say EDIT: it was 1988!

Or was it an in-season thing. Man oh man was I ever excited about that and it totally paid off.

    I don't like off-seasons.

I like regular seasons and playoffs.

When we traded for Tmac, I thought we were going on a dynasty run. That was the best off-season since 2000.

Seconded. What a shame that it didn't work out. We all had such high hopes and throughout the whole Ming/McGrady era it seemed like we were just missing one piece and a single season of good health.

Mine would be the offseason of 2007. When we drafted Landry and Brooks and got Scola

The off-season we drafted Yao. I remember two things pre-yao:
    1) that video of him draining three after three.
    2) the first day he showed up in houston. i was at the rocket's game (a pre-season game against orlando) and i will never forget realizing just how large this individual was. i was maybe 10 rows up and he was still eye-to-eye with me. i remember he was wearing the same suit as he is on the plane here in 'year of the yao'. poor guy, they flew him straight to the arena.

I dislike the fact that the OP put a year 2000 limit. I had more fun in 1999, which was the first off-season I experienced at ClutchFans (called another name at the time), even though it was as a lurker. Mango and Behad scared me half to death, so I lurked. I learned a lot lurking, but missed out on a lot of amazing discussions. That summer with the Francis trade, the rumors, the Mall Guy, Popeye... it was such a gas, and it was all new to me. Not the Rockets, of course, but this amazing BBS. I'll never forget it.

In recent history...2004 offseason by a longshot. Remember Tmac was the current back-to-back defending scoring champ and drew debates to whether he was better than Kobe. I recall comparison to Tracy and Yao being the next possible Kobe and Shaq. When I started typing this I was smiling from ear to ear....now i'm depressed :(
