http://www.memphisflyer.com/BeyondtheArc/archives/2009/07/25/warrick-qualifying-offer-rescinded Interesting. 5 teams are reportedly interested.
Only 5 teams? His agent is not as good as Carl Landry's. When Carl was a free agent, the "flood gates" opened and "all" teams were interested.
11/5 in about 25 minutes of action. Those are decent numbers. I haven't really watched him to know about his intangibles but seems like a solid player. Why did they wave him?
He's a tweener, but I like him. Would love to have him in Houston for a look. Insanely athletic - big fan of his work @ Syracuse.
Hope the Rockets do make a move to get him. At present the front court of the team needs all the help it could get. The Spurs and Mavs are stockpiling in big men. A move the Rockets should likewise follow.
Warrick could be a solid pickup for just about anyone. Solid overall player that can create his own offense. The catch is he'll always be a 3/4 tweener and in terms of consistency he's all over the board.
I'm a fan of Warrick, he is a solid role player on most teams, I wouldn't mind giving him a shot here, he's worth AT LEAST whatever we are trying to get Wafer for, especially if we move Landry.
He can provide some scoring together with the 2nd unit. If Andersen can not produce as hoped then Warrick can be the insurance. He can score and is very athletic. If the team wants to change its game to an uptempo game then Hakim fits well in. On a side note. Hakeem > Hakim
You're right - he's not even 6'8 - in fact he measured up at 6'8.5... oh - and with his 7'2 wingspan he has a standing reach of 9'. To put that in perspective, Yao Ming has a standing reach of 9'6. Landry is at 8'6. Warrick is a pretty long 4. I like Warrick's size and athleticism, he's no doubt a scorer (last 3 seasons he's put up 12.7; 11.4 and 11.6 ppg). I'm not too sure what else he brings to the table though - if we didn't have Landry, then he'd be interesting to persue as a backup PF - but unless we move Landry, no thanks to Warrick.
They might try to experiment and use him or Landry as a "small" center. The team would be under size but very athletic and gang rebounding will off set the height problem.
