I'm a bit confused, If Becks is a washed up overrated player and MLS is a joke, wouldn't Becks be a perfect fit in the league? But apparently one of the biggest and greatest clubs in World Football want Becks so I'm guessing they aren't really good evaluators of talent and prob. just want him to sell shirts.
The only people who overrate Becks imho aren't real footy fans. If you watch the game you know what Becks game is about and what he can/can't do.
(I personally feel he rushed into signing w/ MLS and should have waited till after the 06/07 La Liga season to see what offers he had and then moved to Italy, then make the move to MLS after SA 2010)

I thought Becks was out of line for even acknowledging the LA Riot squad but that doesn't excuse the LA Riot squad members for their actions.

    Another angle of the confrontation

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iYZk75mJ_wc&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/iYZk75mJ_wc&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Becks appears to lure the supporter down by inferring he just wanted to shake hands and then Becks gets the guy tossed out. I think he shouldn't have bothered but nonetheless it was quite funny how he got the guy to come down and then got him tossed out.

    Becks, Becks, Becks, Becks, Becks...

I bet his wife and other female fans call him that, too.

That would be an accurate description of me after you posted those pics of that hot Spanish reporter in the Beadle vs Andrews thread.

$1000? Even the fine amount in MLS makes American soccer look weak...

The guy actually comes and raises the profile of the MLS a heap by just signing with LA and now he wants more than anything to play again for his country so he wants to play in a better comp, what is really wrong with that? Galaxy fans should be happy that most of the world now know about them, only the most hardcore of soccer fans outside of the US would of known who any of the MLS teams were before this move.

^ Ok, cool. But he should stay away from the fans and let them be the classless ones. No?

The funny thing is that players in the EU are always trying to get to another team, witness Ranoldo this year with Man U.........

The difference is in the US mindset....Becks wants to play with the best, he thought he could come over here and do something but he still doesn't have the on the ball skills to dominate over here.

He is still just a free kick and set piece wizard...with adequete Midfield skills.

So, why not play where Soccer is the only sport?

I agree, also of any sport soccer is hard to come and actually 'dominate' the competition. Even someone like Christiano Ronaldo could come to an ordinary league and while he would look good its not a sport where one player can just completely take over, there is always a reliability on the team to help them. For example you take Ronaldo to a team like LA he is not going to stand out as much as Lebron going to some European countries league in bball.
