I could do without the flag pole (shameless advertisement), but the train is a unique aspect of the stadium... reflecting the union station aspect/location of the ballpark. As others mentioned, its a fun and fan-friendly environment to watch a game... which is a helluva lot better than the Astrodome, and other "newer" ballparks (couldn't pay me to watch a day game in Arlington, St. Louis, or even Cincinnatti in the dead of summer).
The club seats are the only place in MMP that sells St. Arnold beers. That's really the only thing that makes me want to go in there. Get off the flag poles people! We weren't the first to do it, it doesn't take anything away from the game. Gives Drayton a lil' more money each year in what "could" help the team sign players. Almost forgot, you get a FREE chicken sandwhich if an Astro hits one of them. Seriously, if your gonna complain about an advertisement, don't complain about the one that gives you a free gift! I totally understand Kam's arguement about Astros, space and the fact we have such a train station look. I like that we copied Camdem Yards and put MMP next to our old train station, its unique features like the train, hill and the flag pole place directly in line of the plate. I've been told by many opposing fans at games that we have the best retractable/indoor stadium look, feel and experience. I only wish that Drayton would go back to the old colors b4 1994, when we were predominately orange, blue and white. Like NASA spacesuit colors and it would go better with with Minute Maid colors. We should go back to a more space featured look but how do you do that next to a train station? Done ranting, now I'm gonna finish my Texas Wheat and go to bed
