WSB Radio out of Atlanta is reporting that former world champion, Vernon Forrest was shot and killed in Atlanta, GA. According to WSB Radio, Forrest was a victim of an attempted car-jacking. WSB is reporting that Forrest was putting air into his tires at approximately 11PM Saturday night, when two subjects exited a red Monte Carlo, and tried to take Forrest' car. Apparently the former world champion chased the two subjects with his own gun, and was shot and killed during the foot chase. Stay tuned to 8CN for updates.

    bummer

I HATE Atlanta from what I know about it, which is I-75 through town where they drive 90mph bumper-to-bumper. Almost died there the last week of June. Saw a five car pile up right in front of me. Had to drive 90 mph & use my catlike reflexes on the left shoulder to avoid it. No possibility to stop & help thy fellow human - for 20 cars would ride directly up your ASS!

    They drive like psychos.

    EFF ATLANTA!

Thugs beat up Jeff Ament two months ago in a parking lot while finishing the new Pearl Jam album.

Didn't Ray Lewis knife commit murder on that guy from Akron in Atlanta?

Tree Rollins tried to bite Danny Ainge's finger clean off.

& now Vernon Forrest gets mugged & killed ...

I'm sure the list goes on & on.

    Burn that place down again!

But give Outkast a warning first. Hey Ya was good.

The UFC and crazy people are killing boxing. RIP VF....I've seen some great matches with him. Quartey comes to mind when I think of his fights. The judges gave it to him.

He probably shouldn't have been chasing them with his own gun.

I've lived in Atlanta for over 2 years now and grew up in Houston. I think the road aggressiveness is about equal.

Not to self: Avoid Houston. ;)

I'm from Ohio, living in Florida. Rather be pissed off about the gray geezers driving in the left lane at 40mph than to risk life & limb with crazy whackos in a hurry to get to shiddy airport they have.

Did an entire baseball team ever plunge to their deaths in Houston, as they did in Atlanta?

It's a screwed up city on the surface. Sorry.

You act like crazy stuff just happens in Atlanta. I've heard plenty of crazier stories that happened in other places.

Really a dumb way to die - he should have just protected himself near the car.

    Same here.

I saw "World Champion Vernon..." from the main directory and then my eyes jump straight to "Killed" when I opened the Hangout. My heart sank for a split second.

    Still tragic though.
