^^^ Join bigtexxx, DaDakota, Uprising, et. al. ... I knew this was going to be your "reasoning"... "it doesn't matter"... "this doesn't count"... "we have our B team"... all of those are good ... LOL... they all make me laugh...
Swoly, Serious question. Would you rather win today's game, or the one coming up on Aug 12th? I think this was an important one for you team's confidence, but with only 6 points, you guys need to start winning in WC qualifying.... So, given the choice which would you rather win? DD
Can you please show me where I made excuses for the US losing Sherlock? Or is this more of your tortured futbol scholar routine? Sorry to rain on your pararde swoly, I'm sure you'll be referencing this win every chance you get. Enjoy it while it lasts.
That was fun stuff, I like the Mexican reporter named "Schwartz." Thanks for the translations during the match, Swoly.
No, not after the fact, this was a big win for Mexico.....I am just wondering which one Swoly puts more weight on? DD
I love how people quickly point out the US had their B team and no one acknowledges that Mex had their B team as well. Great game!
DaDakota, with all due respect, it's WAR, sir. Please don't ask me "which one" I would want to win more. I don't care if it's my grandma vs. your great-grandma, if it is a U.S. versus Mexico game, you know it ain't no friendly and you know it ain't no choice. Why do you dismiss this game as "our B team" versus anyone else? What, did you want Mexico to stop at 1 goal or to say "oh, well, they're weaker, let's go home" and not play the game at all? You're asking as if I would take ANY loss. I won't put any more weight on any one game. I am sure you do NOT want to go and tell Ching "it's ok, man, this game didn't matter" to his face, or do you? I think that's why soccer will never grow on the United States peeps... 'cuz they can dismiss these games as "not important", but if it were a bunch of people whose game of choice is SOCCER like a Spaniard or a Brazilian, they wouldn't give you that silly attitude. You didn't use an excuse. I never said that. I just asked you to join the rest. I know it hurts. Yes, I am enjoying it. Well, you tell me where I have given "excuses" or "my schtick." I'll be the first one to tell you I've been disappointed as of late and that we've stunk it up, sir.
Mexico whooped up on us. Losing that bad, we really don't have anything to say or any trash to talk regardless of who played and who didn't...you just gotta take this one. Congrats to Mexico. See you Aug. 12th.
You guys won today and deserved it. Congrats. However, don't tell me that other countries don't view some games as meaningless because they do and you know it. As far as your schtick you know exactly what we're talking about. You slammed everything the US accomplished because they score goals off of set pieces and penalties. Our wins didn't count when they were like that, remember? That being said, regardless of what team we brought, you can't lose 5-0. You just can't. Looking forward to August 12th.
Didn't see the final (or semi's for that matter). Sounds like the youngsters lost their composure against a much more experienced team. This game was what it was...the final of a meaningless tournament. I'd say it in a US win. That's why I didn't record the game or try my best to get home in time this weekend like I would with most any other US game. Justify it how you want, mexico fans, this was a glorified exhibition. The winner gets absolutely nothing. You played well and apparently deserved the victory. Just don"t make it out to be more than what it is.
LOL! OOoOOooo. I'm scared! Oh, no! August is coming! Bwa-ha-ha-haha... Anyway... I'm off to see my Águilas del América beat up on some more European teams.
I would feel worse about the lose if it was not for the fact that Brian Ching was the only US player worth being out there. It just shows how much better Mexico's second team is than the US's 2nd/3rd team. Fortunately, when it comes down to business, its about who has the better 1st team. I guess we will figure that out in a few weeks.
You are correct a win is a win, especially for Mexico these days W's seem pretty tough to come by. Good Luck makng it to the World Cup. If Mexico finds away to continue to choke in the qualifiers, Nigeria could be the only Green and White you are watching next summer. Which, BTW, would move Mexico behind Greenland in the "Most worthless Summer Sports Country in the World" catagory.
