honestly i will laugh if it all collapses for the mavs with all these contracts.

    pg kidd/barea
    sg terry/howard
    sf marion/
    pf nowitzki/gooden
    c gortat/dampier

pretty good rotation, very flexible when it comes to all the positions, i will put these guys in top 4 now, especially with gooden, might not seem like much, but will give these guys even more size. tallest and probably biggest team out there..the addition of matt caroll and ryan hollins should give these guys speed for playin a smaller team. take blazers out of home advantage. honestly, these semi finals are going to be historic.

Gortat is in Orlando. The Magic matched his offer.

    Nowitzki
    Marion
    Howard
    Terry
    Kidd

Could be an incredible line-up IMO. These guys did a great job. They will be paying for it a long time.

This could be one of the best scoring teams... Marion and Gooden can both run on the break... Their problem will be on the defensive end

A decent pick up by the Mavs. He can help strengthen bench production and might benefit from having a point guard like Kidd. Cuban is surely loading his team for what is probably the final chance of the Dirk era.

Always has been, always will be with Cuban. He wants to keep the seats filled not win championships.

Getting Gooden along with Marion will help but they will miss Bass.

Cuban might just sell the team out of frustration. He would have to consider breaking up the team and start anew should they not reach at least the West Finals.

meh....good move on paper I guess, but I don't really see this helping the Mavs that much on the court. just another big name on a team with no identity.

This Dallas team isn't as loaded as the 2003-2004 team remember? I was like wow with that line up. You had Nash, Dirk, Antoine Walker in his prime, Jamison. Too bad they didn't make it pass the second round. You wonder what would have happened if they would of kept the team in tack for one more season.

Actually this is a move to replace Bass and Gotat. It will be a very nice upgrade over Bass imo. Bass was like 6'7 with shoes and very poor defensively. Gooden may be also but he's about 3 inches taller.

Gooden also has post moves whereas bass had none.

The mavs end of game lineup will either be:

Dirk, Marion, Josh, Jet, Jkiddo or..
    Gooden, Dirk, Marion, Josh, Jkiddo.

Gooden will primarily backup dampier and be used against the faster centers that dampier just cannot guard.

I don't know about Gooden. It seems he puts up good numbers and has a nice offensive game. But these things never translate into team success somehow. It almost seems like he gets his numbers at the expense of the team. There has to be a reason why he keeps bouncing around from team to team when so many are desperate for a quality big man.
