Seriously, Japan, WTF? [NY Times Magazine] "Love in 2-D"

Off the top of my head I recall that Japan has one of if not the highest suicide rate.

 

I wonder if that has something to do with this type of asocial behavior. Japan up until WWII was brought up with a national myth of being a divine people that divinity was shattered in WWII and especially with the dropping of two A-Bombs on them. They got a new myth that allowed them to claw their way back up to becoming an economic superpower only to watch that collapse in a decade of economic stagnation. It seems to me that the Japanese as a people might have lost some of what held them up as a society and now find escapism into 2D fantasy world more comforting than an uncertain reality.

Another thing about Japan is how regimented their society is. I was talking to another Judo coach who trained for many years in Japan and he was pointing out how the things they do there as coaches and players couldn't happen here in America. Americans just wouldn't accept that level of regimentation that the Japanese put up as a fact of their life. While that sort of social discipline has some big benefits on the individual level such things could be soul crushing. I'm not surprised that a lot of Japanese entertainment then centers around the absurd and indulgences in extremely violent and fetishistic behavior. Things like that to me would be very appealing to escape the rigid life that you actually lead.

 

If you're going to stage that pic with the tissues there, why not go all out and show some high quality lubes as well?

 

Am I the only one who is more disturbed by the fact that these sickos are getting off of images of 6th graders, 10-12 year olds as their imaginary girlfriends?

The bit about 1/4 of 30 year old men being virgins... having been to Japan numerous times, I can attest that nearly all of my Japanese friends, who are mostly 25-30, live with their parents. And it's pretty damn difficult to [Ig]et it on[/I] in such small housing with said parents, who treat their adult sons and daughters like kids, in them. Another factor which doesn't help them in their quest for poon, is that while the Japanese women are becoming more westernized, they are not quite as promiscuous as Western chicks. In other words, on average, they don't put out as much, hence more pillow humping for dudes.

The more industrialized a nation, the more separated from the natural, and the more perverted and unnatural it is, the more it leads to sexual depravity. It takes a person who suppresses their natural urges of living by pure instinct, and places themselves in an imaginary world of numbers, images, and ideas, which is necessary for finance, industry, and technology, to lose touch with reality.

Women there are historically and culturally submissive the bedroom. They are literally expected to just lie there while the guy does his things. I dont know about the rest of you but I like my women actually doing something in the bedroom.

I've told my friends for years but Japan is one of the strangest countries in the world and I cant figure out why.
