Well I'm not obsessed with him but sir I really think your over doing it. No McGrady ( yet ) No Yao ( out for the season ) No one really to put the ball in the basket. Who are your go 2 guys? Brooks?? Not really ready yet IMO. Scola?? Really shined because defenses were focused on McGrady and Yao. How is he going to fair when everyone is mainly locked down on him. Battier is in love with that corner spot and Ariza well from what I've seen when he was with the Knicks and Lakers he's not really a threat either. Iverson is far better than anyone we have on this team. I don't care what anyone says. You can't ask a person who has been scoring all his life to suddenly come to a team and be a playmaker. Noo way that is going to work. Detroit messed that up by themselves. Iverson didn't mess it up. Iverson could get more playing time here. He damn sure can start over Brooks. More money?? He only wants a 1 year deal. Well he said he would settle for a 1 year deal. That doesn't sound like a guy who is really looking for money. Better team to win on Rockets or Grizzlies??? haha you decide.
I agree that Iverson on a one year deal could help us a lot. Plus, he could start and that might attract him. We need people who can SCORE and that's what he does best. The biggest problem is how do we compensate on D for having both him and Brooks in at the same time. Maybe we trade Brooks? Lowry Iverson Ariza Scola Andersen ?
Hmm.. so you tell me... why is he close to signing with the Grizzlies then? You're so worked up in getting him, but you haven't actually seen what's going on with him these days. He wants more than 2.5 million... hell.. he can go to 5 or 6 other teams that can offer him more and are also way better than the Rockets currently. Why do I bother coming into GARM? Don't I know it's still the offseason where all the r****ded posters come out? Hmm... I must have forgotten.
No, he wouldn't help us at all. He'd stunt the growth of our rookies and hurt our draft position. Not to mention his being a bad influence on our younger players.
IDK if anyone mentioned this, but I read(I believe on ESPN.com) that Hakeem Warrick was on the market, something like they retracted an offer to him since the Grizzlies got Zach Randolph. He's really versatile for a big man. It give us more athleticism and height down low. I think the Grizzlies only offered him like 2.5 million. Couldn't we match that or come close to it? Thoughts?
We dont have any money left. The only real way we can get a free agent is if we trade a garbage player (Barry, Cook, White, etc) and a pick for them in a sign and trade. Its really a shame too because I think Warrick and Sessions are both really good up and comers and could probably be had on the cheap if our cap situation was better.
I think trades will develope later in the season but not by us. For some reason we over value our players and the other teams undervalue them. Tmacs contract is still not enticing unless you are the knocks and want give us their poo. We dont want the Bulls and knicks poo but they keep offering and we shouldnt take it. Too bad we already passed on the good deals or someone made them for peanuts less than we could have already. So many moves where made I wouldnt be surprised that Morey and the Rockets just have to sit on their hands now for a full year and hope for the best. I wouldnt get my hopes up for a future move after this last offseason were half the teams ahead of us already made moves. Those take a year for them to assess leaving them as partners out of it which means alot less teams with stuff we want and we dont usually have what they need back.
Every long athletic 4 is the next Stromile Swift huh? Hakim Warrick is a fine basketball player and would be a great addition to the team.
No... He has no ******* basketball IQ... that's why he's the next Stromile Swift... he takes terrible shots... no consistency whatsoever... just a terrible talent.
Lacks the knowledge to play basketball.. that's all I gotta say about him..... next Stromile Swift. the end.
All players have flaws, can't expect every player to be perfect but the kid produces. Von Wafer lacked basketball IQ but he still produced (in the season at least). If the team is indeed rebuilding and wants to move Scola or even Landry, he wouldn't be a bad replacement at all.
PER, the past three seasons: Stromile Swift 2006-07: 14.21 2007-08: 14.69 2008-09: 6.80 Hakim Warrick 2006-07: 15.92 2007-08: 16.09 2008-09: 16.91 Luis Scola 2006-07: N/A 2007-08: 16.13 2008-09: 17.10 Hakim Warrick is a far superior basketball player to Stromile. Whichever team gets Warrick at the pay cut he's now going to have to take is going to get an absolute steal. I'd love for the Rockets to get him with most of the remainder of their MLE, but I doubt he'd take it. Especially since he'd be playing behind Scola and Landry.
Thank you. Great statistics. A Hakim Warrick signing would probably mean either Scola or Landry are on their way out anyways. Would be a fantastic transaction, improve our roster via trade and sign a player that brings the same production as Scola/Landry.
children these days. If YOU have been watching him then you'll know that the grizzlies are interested. Interested and about to sign are 2 different things younging. And BTW not to hurt your feelings he is talking to the Clippers more than the Grizzlies. I hate to break it down to you like that.
Sounds like your talking about AI. Last rumor I read up though said low chance of going to the Clippers, they actually called it at 2%. Take it for what you'd like. Please dont tell me you guys want him here?
Personally, I wouldn't mind trading Landry or Cook plus someone, to clear roster space, then work a sign and trade with Memphis for Warrick. I think he would be great in the run n gun system. Highly unlikely for all that to happen though.
