This is going to the D&D but um... religious stuff IS the cause of most hate, war, etc., in the world
Most of the dancers sucked but the two girls at the beginning and the hand stand guy. I appreciated his Puff Daddy moves to start out. lol
Same here. I might perhaps understand if some people are just so used to traditional orthodoxy that they are shocked that people would actually dare to *gasp* dance in a church, but come on people, lighten up. It's THEIR wedding ceremony, not a church service. And the bible I read says something about how in God's presence there is liberty. If the music contained lewd lyrics or they were bumping and grinding and doing sexually suggestive dances, then that would be disrespectful. This was nothing of the sort. Heck, one Sunday at my church a newly wedded couple was doing their thanksgiving, and we (the band) played a pop-py love song while they danced to the front of the church. Too many people confuse holiness with uptightness. I thought it was quite humorous and even awesome. Enough of them cookie cutter weddings. People should be able to have fun when they get married. (off my soapbox)
This board never ceases to amaze me. It's a youtube video of people you don't even know. Why criticize? Who cares? I thought it was entertaining...if you didn't, no need to unload your opinionated crap in this thread.
It’s their wedding. If she wanted to come out doing flips with him playing the banjo........it’s their wedding. Good for them. With the divorce rate these days.............they’ll probably be showing their second husband or wife this clip in several years anyways. Swoly...wtf? Coming out to a woman beater is crazy.
After my best friend's wedding, we were all introduced at the reception to the Cantina Song from Star Wars as we rode up an escalator. Strange, but I loved it.
They put it on youtube so that immediately opens it up to criticism and public opinion. It's their wedding and they can do what they want to, but I thought it was stupid.
Yeah, I loved the fat guy doing the puff daddy move. And the 2 girls at the beginning were great too. But everything after the headstand was kind of lame. I did like the bride's entrance though. She seems like the exact opposite of a bridezilla. They could've had a better song though. They should've gone old school with some Earth Wind and Fire or something.
I did last night. Honestly, some of you are too damn sensitive. Who is to say they didn't get the church's permission first to do this? I liked it and thought it was pretty original.
I like it! It was their wedding, and that's the route they wanted to take. That's why we have choices. ...There was some drinking going on before hand
Who says they put it on youtube? It looked to be shot by one of the guests. I'm just talking about the nature of this board, and this thread in general. I wouldn't do that at my wedding, but I don't see the point in arguing against it. If the OP had said something like "What do you think- is this acceptable for a wedding?" ... that would change the direction of the thread and open it up to that. But I was just kind of shocked that a harmless youtube video would turn into this.
I agree. Im in my cousins wedding (im an usher...if you can even consider that being apart of the wedding..) and my aunts are making me shave my beard. Nooooo
MoBalls, it's funny you bring up divorce rates and showing this to the second wife or husband... but... I bet one of them didn't like this at all and just went with it to please the other one. Not understanding me is fine and dandy, but ... I am sure you understand that disrespecting a place of worship is not "being lighthearted." Have these same people try this at a temple or mosque and see what happens... any takers?
How do you know they didn't get permission from the church beforehand? I'm willing to bet they did and did not just spring it on them like that. If they did and the church was offended, I'm sure the church would have cut it out quickly.
If the church doesn't care why should you? I'm sure they told the pastor they would do this and the pastor probably saw them practice the entrance at the rehersal. The church has the right to refuse so I doubt this was something they sprang them or forced them to do. Also have you considered that there is hate and war because of people telling other people how they should conduct their personal affairs?
I saw an interview with the couple on the local news last night and they said that they had intended to distribute that video only to friends and family and felt YouTube was the best way to do that. Apparently they forgot about the privacy setting but I didn't get the impression they were out seeking publicity. They seemed very surprised that this had become so popular.
I know when I saw that handstand, the first thought that entered my mind was "This is why wars are started"
