All these threads about tacos and burgers got me hungry and curious... I haven't had some really good sushi in a long time, especially in Houston.. What great sushi places do you guys recommend and how expensive is it?

In the "Don't judge a book by it's cover" category you have Matsusaka on Westheimer in the westchase area.

If you are in to fusion try Japaneiro

Isn't Tokyohana more a Japanese grill a la Benihana than a Sushi place?

damnit. 6 years ago when that place opened I used to eat there two or three times a week. Never crowded...no wait.

    Now there's a half-hour wait everytime that I go.

As far as a recommendation, I would suggest Kubo's. Best sushi in town, IMO

Osaka - on Westheimer across form Katz's. If you've never been, they'll start loadin you up with free appetizers, which are delish and most importantly, FREE!

Phish in Midtown is also good as well.....

400 sage is pricey, but good.
713 lounge on westheimer is inventive and cheaper.
i like iron chef on hwy 6 and rattan on eldridge for their prices (rattan is great for wine too)

Go to any Japanese Steak House. Love it.

There is one on Westheimer. Don't remember the name. Probably has Tokoyo somewhere in the name.

Miyako on westheimer between hillcroft and fountain view.

I would suggest getting miyako taiyo maki and s&m maki

Close. It's called Taiko. It is on westheimer & fountainview. This is where I usually go for hibachi filet mignon. Sushi is pretty good too.

There is a Benihana location closeby too. It is next to Yao's and they recently renovated the place.
