Over the years I've played with a lot of players who are into a lot of different things. Not like Jayson Williams party-with-a-shotgun type activities, but still inexplicable things. One of these things came to light the other day while I was in Vegas.

I was on the bus next to James White and he asked me something about werewolves. I was in the middle of reading "Breaking Dawn," and I looked up at him. I told him it was weird that he was asking about that while I was reading "Twiglight." I didn’t hear what else he had to say because I was too busy reading my book.

The next day we were on the elevator on the way to our trainer’s room to get taped before the game. James asked me if I checked out the werewolf thing on YouTube. He said that there’s a real wolf-man roaming around out in the forest and that the video is clear. He said he believes that something is going on out there. I told him that hadn’t checked it yet. He peeped my iPhone and told me to YouTube it right then.

"Search for the Michigan Wolverine," he asked me.

"Um, do you know that the University of Michigan's mascot is the Wolverine? You know that won’t give me anything about you're talking about," I informed him.

"Well then search for Michigan Wolfman."

"OK."

I did the search for him, not because I wanted to see it, but because he was so hyped and because the other Rockets in the elevator wanted to see.

"I found something about a dog-man," I said as we entered the room. "Is that what I'm supposed to find?"

"Yeah, that's it!"

I pulled up the video. It was blurry, kind of stupid, and then the cameraman started running. I looked up at James. He had to be kidding with this nonsense, but he held firm. He really believed it. He made sure that everyone in the room saw the video. To my surprise, a couple other guys said they believed it too. Jermaine Taylor actually brought up some story about the Loch Ness monster. The ridiculousness continued when the trainer interrupted us by saying that Deion Sanders would not make the NFL Hall of Fame.

It was all too much for me. I was now arguing with everyone in the room whether it be about The Michigan Dogman or Loch Ness or Deion Sanders and his Pizza Hut commercial where they ask him, "Baseball or football?" (His reply: "Both.")

So I just have to ask, do you think that the following video has any merit? Or are you with me that James White is off his rocker? Check it out:

The video is blurry and unfocused most of the time... but suddenly becomes clearer and the color changes right as the thing happens to bite the camera lens.

A little hoax-y.

Yeah this definitely a hoax. if look closely it is easy to see the guy behind he camera is Chase budinger. ANd is also looks like the guy in the wolf out fit is James Wite. This is just a prank put on by Chase and White to freak out the other summer leaguers. Nice job! Maybe he and james White created this video as a hoax

I'd believe pretty much anything set to that music. Illuminati tales, alien abduction stuff, Steve and Cuttino were just friends, etc.

I will now cease my daily email campaign to the Rockets front office to sign Paul Shirley, and recalibrate it to Rod Benson.

Leading the D-League in rebounding has to count for something, right?

(Also, this will be the only way we'll get the behind-the-scenes, tell-all book years from now about Yao's/McGrady's rehab. Though, the potential for this same tell-all book will probably prevent Benson from ever being hired by the league.)
