questionable in terms of going gortat/bass instead of turkoglu. but can't argue with keeping a backup to dwight instead of a guy they had already replaced with VC.. but man, put VC, Turkoglu, Rashard, Jameer all around Dwight and that's killer. Esp. after letting Rafer go, Turk was handling some backup point last year--not to be overlooked.

Nice pickup. He is still surprisingly effective in short minutes (much like Mutombo was). I would not have minded him in a Rocket uniform for the right price.

Seriously, Me-Theo-selah gives them an old creaky iced-knees guy in the locker room that will make Tim Duncan feel fresh and young. That's it. He will barely sniff court time.

Who plays backup C that can actually score consistently in the paint? McDyess is a mid range shooter not a post scorer. Good moves for the spurs, but their season still falls on Duncan's knees and Manu's ankle. Jefferson will help, but without a dominant Timmy, they wont get past LA.

All these teams that are "improving" look good on paper, but we don't know how much they are actually "improving" until we see them play. They will still only go as far as parker, manu and timmy will take them.

Good move for the Spurs. Ratliff is the exact kind of player that I see really succeeding in bit minutes off the bench, a la Drew Gooden last year. These are the kind of moves a team who has Championship aspirations makes. And to think, a short time ago, the Spurs were the team being left for dead, while the Rockets were the new up and comers. My how things change.

The Spurs got really old really fast. Maybe their new moniker should be: The Advil for Lunch Bunch." What's next, bring David Robinson out of retirement. :D :D :D

I added these 2 players last month to my rockets team in NBA2K9 and I had hoped Morey will try to acquire them too.

And now the Spurs got both of them.
