    Ok this is stupid.

    Desktop-PC is Vista (PC1) and Laptop-PC is XP (PC2)

PC1 is connected directly to my modem via ethernet. When trying to setup a simple home network for file sharing with PC2, I rename all WORKGROUP names the same on both PC's, and I can even access PC2's files from PC1. But when I'm on PC2 trying to access PC1, it ask for a User name and password. Now my Username I know is what I've NAMED it which is Laptop-PC but I've never created a password for ANYTHING. I can't just leave it black, it won't take.

I've googled this until my fingers have bled and I see no answer. Any of you geeks have this problem before and have been able to fix it?

LOL, that's no UFO. That's a moth or a weather balloon or something...

I set up my brother's mac with a printer and shared it to Windows machines. Installing Bonjour on the Windows machines allowed me to wirelessly connect to a printer hooked up to a Mac very easily (there are other ways, but that was easy)

But I guess you're having an issue trying to do the reverse, huh? Since I haven't done it the other way, my solution is to hook the printer up to the mac and install Bonjour for Windows on the PC..
