Great news. Here is for a healthy and full recovery. Hopefully no more after this. (Though I pose to you, havent past surgeries been considered "successful" for him only to go back under the knife? Ha..though in all honesty, rest big fella, and hopefully we can see out on the court in a year from now.)

Great news I hope he changes shoe company now. Reebock has been a jinx for him so far.

NOO!! Those chinese websites lied! They said Yao was getting Zydrunas' doctor to do the surgery and not Clanton. Hopefully, the new doctor can take care of Yao's recovery.

Glad this went well. I remember reading some articles saying that it would require 2 successive surgeries to repair the fracture appropriately and re-align the foot. Did he choose a different option?

Has anyone ever heard of an "unsuccessful surgery"? That being said, I do hope Yao a speedy recovery. Don't rush to come back this time.

It was going to be Clanton all along or Im pretty sure it was. Well I guess that dont matter since its done now. Maybe they said he was doing a similar procedure to what Big Z had done? I dont know, I didnt read or hear what the chinese media said. But yes, hopefully whoever the new team doctor is can monitor his recovery and make sure all goes well.

He just could'nt leave Yao Ming alone, couldn't he? Why haven't DM and the FO realized that Clanton's surgeries only last for one season? I guess we can expect Yao Ming to go under the knife again midway through 2012 :(

Doctor "widely considered to be the best" Clanton: the gift that keeps on giving.

I wouldn't let him wield a knife in Outback Steakhouse. He appears to be an incompetent clod ... fits right in with the rest of the useless medical staff.

I remember pre-surgery that Ilgauskas was a very servicable center in this league. Does anyone recall how much his quality of play dropped when he returned from his surgery? I don't expect to see Yao fleet of feet or anything like that but I would still expect him to have his sweet jump shot and consistency in the paint when he returns.

Because others wont touch his previous work on Yao's foot fearing being sued later on. Poor Yao's stuck with the warranty that came with earlier surgeries.

He really only had one full season before having foot problems. Immediately after the surgery he wasn't that effective because he didn't begin starting again until 40 games after his return. After that, he was better than he was pre-surgery, but that's probably do to natural development (he had the surgery at age 25).
