Anyone ever been? Major, a couple of buddies, and myself might be going up there Wednesday (heypartner, you're invited) and we were wondering what there was to do besides watching the Horns win the national championship. If I recall, there's someone that lives there...ROCKSS, maybe?
Yes, I moved to Omaha from Houston 1.5 years ago. There is actually quite a bit to do in Omaha, contrary to popular belief The Old Market is in downtown Omaha and is filled with restaurants and clubs and plenty of shopping. Of course with the CWS in town everyone is partying down on the market every night. There are quite a few cultural sites and an awesome zoo to explore. If you want drop me a line at tobyh@laf.lynden.com and I will help anyway I can.
Counting Crows references on this board are WAY too few and far between. New album, Hard Candy, is out July 9th. I can't wait, though i've actually been listening to it for a while now. Good stuff....
Heypartner, we're leaving Waco at 8:00 tomorrow night if you want to ride. Rice plays at 6:00 Thursday night, er, what, they were already eliminated? Well, you're still invited.
Anyone watching the game? Watching it gives me chills. Ontiveros' 2 run homer gives Texas the lead 5-3 heading to the bottom of the 5th.
I saw it....dude, that bottom of the 9th was SERIOUS drama...pimp freshman closer in Huston Street up against that Stanford lineup. It seems that every game UT has played vs stanford the past 3 years has been decided by one or two runs. Anyway, is the championship game on saturday a winner take all thing? I mean, although texas hasn't lost yet in the CWS, does it matter if they lose to a 1-loss Clemson or S. Carolina team? That would suck if it's like that, but i guess that's life....Anyway, can't wait for the game. Ontiveros and Majewski came up BIG....
The things ill remember... the things ill forget.. i miss you i guess that i should three thousand five hundred miles away... what would you change if you could? i need a phone call... i need a plane ride..................... (its raining in baltimore baby, everything else is the same)
My brother works for the UT baseball team; I actually have grandstand tickets. Can't go. Sad thing is, there's a 15 year waiting list for tickets and I'm turning them down.
Why does it not surprise me that Holden would reference "Raining in Baltimore" from August and Everything After? Not the most upbeat album i've ever listened to, but probably one of the best, and my favorite.... Keep your head up, Holden.
