Not once has he mentioned the fact that he would be disappointed if the Rockets select Ming. Not once has he threatened to leave the team if they dont do what he says. Why is everyone so bitter with Francis? Everything that has been said has been B.S. rumors. Its annoying that people actually want to let go of a player like stevie. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I totally agree, this has been stupid. Even if he is pissed, where is it "rumored" that he would demand a trade? I think Steve wants to be a Rocket for life regardless of who is on this team. Maybe he is pissed, but nobody has said that at least he is sucking it up and not saying anything to the public. Clutch says that he knows a guy who's cousin's friend is a friend to a friend and so on and so on, that says Steve is pissed and all of the sudden Francis is painted as holding the team hostage.

.....maybe because clutch has credentials on his posts and because he never post something that would get everyone pissed off just for kicks???

and about holding a team hostage...wow that's farfetched...i wonder how the grizzlies would respond..

'steve francis holding a team hostage??!?!? that's ridiculous!'

The Grizzlies knew BEFORE the draft that Steve did not want to play there. Francis's agent told the Grizz that if they select stevie, then he would not play there. They chose him anyways.

I don't remember Steve telling the Grizz thay he would stay there forever but in his first season in Houston, he said he would never want to leave. That's what makes these situations different. Regardless of the credibility of Clutch's source, the point I was making is that nowhere does it say what Francis will do, just that he is mad. He has stated that he wanted a proven player because he wants to win now. He is confidant in himself and his teammates and believes they should have been in the playoffs if they all hadn't been injured last year. Eveybody is painting him as a baby for wanting to win now even though everybody here wants to see this team in the playoffs. With a good veteran, we are a lock for the playoffs, but not a lock for a championship run. With Ming, we will make the playoffs for sure by his second year and definately be a title contender in four. Some people here have speculated that if we don't get to the playoffs, Rudy might be out as coach. So now it's my turn to make crazy speculations. What if Francis knows something we don't about Rudy's job security and he wants to ensure that Rudy keeps his job? See how easy it is. This obviously looks crazy to all the people that have started calling for Francis' head, but it's a good example of how level headed people view all the talk about holding the team hostage or planning on leaving as a FA.

rez: I dismissed them all as BS rumors until Clutch posted. His source I trust. If Clutch says Francis is pissed, he is. Besides, this is not the first I've heard of it even on this board. I've heard the same thing from others as well. It is nothing new. It is just further confirmed at this point.

I'm with Clutch. I want to hear it from Francis in a legit interview.

    Jeff,

The reason that you have heard it on this board is because people are just recirculating what Clutch has said. Here is my question: Is Francis specifically mad that we are going after Ming?

i defintely believe francis is pissed. there's just too many inside reports saying that for it to be false. i however draw the line in bashing him for a disagreement with management, afterall this is a HUGE decision in his career, ie. life. i think once he plays with ming he'll have a change of heart and i'll atleast give him that opportunity.

He wants to trade the pick. I don't know his specific feelings on Yao. I just know from what I've heard that he isn't happy about it.

SPECULATION: I think that he is worried about Yao stealing some of his thunder. That would be in line with the fact that he was not happy about the Griffin trade last year for much the same reason.

    We'll see.
