there would be less dunking....and goaltending...and the goal would be HIGHER. I almost forgot about that one!!
Isn't the goal 10'9" as it is already? An additional 3 inches wouldn't hurt that much. If it's closer to 10'.....it'd take away a lot of the excitement of the game, such as the shorter point guards dunking the ball. It'd bring back more fundamentals, which is a good thing, but I don't think many people want to watch 1960s era basketball again.
I agree, and I apologize to anybody who took my comment seriously. JUST SAY NO TO THE WNBA. Thanks for setting me straight.
I used to think until until 5th grade the goal posts were set at 12 ft. 10 ft. is high as it is. Did the NFL make the league longer and less wide for barry sanders and walter payton? Why should the nba do this for all the players in the league (all of whom can dunk). A better rule would be 25 minute halves.
All those BACK TO BASICS guys would be happy Tired of this 'sick' athleticism taking over Rocket River
I don't think it's the athleticism that bothers the "Back to basic guys". I think it's the inability of a LARGE number of NBA players to shoot a mid-range jumper with consistency.
