I knew he would be one opening his big mouth about it. Sam is the bacteria on pond scum of all nba journalist.

I agree with whoever said it likely won't happen because the rumor is out there. Have we had advance notice of ANY of Morey's moves? I think not.

I know there have been some outlandish trade scenarios, but what about this one.

    Houston trades:
    Battier, Barry, Lowry to Portland

    Houston receives:
    Outlaw, Fernandez, and Webster

Portland does this because they are obviously in search of a SF who can defend and add veteran leadership. Battier fits that role.

Rox get much neede athleticism and shooting at the 2 and 3 spots with Fernandez and Outlaw. Webster is still recovering from foot surgery but is only 23.

    Houston trades:
    Scola, Hayes, and Cook

    New Orleans trades:
    David West

New Orleans will be dumping salary due to financial problems and West has 3 years remaining. Scola expires next season.

Houston gets a 4 who can shoot with more range than Scola and is a better ball handler in terms of turning and facing his defender with the ability to get to the whole.

    Thoughts?

Landry is putting up similar numbers to Thomas in fewer minutes and he has played fewer years in the league. Just because Thomas is younger doesn't guarantee positive development in the upcoming years. This would only make sense if Yao was out for good and we decided to become a full on run n gun team.

    Scola > West

CP3 makes David West look good. No way!

    Btw the lineup would be
    Anderson/Dorsey
    West/Landry,
    Ariza/Outlaw
    Fernandez/Webster/Tmac?
    Brooks/? Possibly Fernandez

Sounds interesting... if we can stick to the topic at hand tho, instead of more seemingly random trades :p

Scola is not better than West. West is younger and is not as limited as Scola offensively. Scola can't effectively put the ball on the floor to beat his man, nor does he have the range of West.

CP3 makes Chandler look good. West gets his own shots and there is part of the difference between he and Scola

I agree to a degree, but realisically who can we really say will be available as a FA next year? I believe this team with a healthy Yao coming back more resembles the type of team Adelman wants. Thats one with shooters and players who can move without the ball.

While I don't know too much about Fesenko and what he can do, the thought of Battier and Landry playing for the Jazz makes me want to vomit.

Twitter is not a credible news source.

Utah's in a squeeze. They will be getting more desperate every hour. I don't see Morey getting caught up in some other team's drama. He'll sit until it's a big advantage for him to make a move. Glancing over this thread, there's nothing that leads me to believe that now is such a time.

If so, scratch that idea, I don't want Korver on my team.

    Agreed.

Daryl Morey's history has shown that he would rather not make any deal than make a deal he may later regret. Just can't see him rush into any deal months before the offseason unless it's an absolute no-brainer for him. I really doubt giving up Battier and Landry for Tyrus Thomas is a no-brainer to Morey, who has consistently valued proven production, intelligent team play, etc. over unrealized potential and raw atheleticism. .
