Maybe...I think he left way too early...Like I saw Cal play a few times and he didn't catch my attention at all other than his name...Very raw, didn't even have good stats in college...has potential...I guess...It's like any seven footer with some athletic ability nowadays has "potential"
Maybe once this glut of scrub centers is filled, it'll stop being so ridiculous that any 7 footer in H.S. can be drafted...Maybe Sampson will turn out but he didn't show much in College...don't know about workouts though

I'm a huge Cal fan, and trust me, everyone thinks Sampson going pro is a huge, huge, huge mistake.

He doesn't even have a good excuse, as he comes from a solid middle-class family with financial resources... he doesn't need to "take care of his family."

He was highly touted coming out of HS, had a solid year (especially defensively) for the Bears...

... but this guy has VERY, VERY limited offensive skills. In his current form, at best he'll pick up 15 minutes a game picking up uncontested defensive rebounds and donating 6 fouls.

He's such a talent, and everyone thinks its such an amazing waste he's not sticking around. He *could* be lottery if he waited another 2 years, and at least a guaranteed first-round if he waited one. Now, he's on the first-round bubble? Talking about falling to #37?

Man, that's just sad for a guy with as much potential as he does.
