Via Spears on Yahoo. He used to work for the Boston Globe. I'm on my phone so I can't cut and paste a link. Rockets were supposedly interested by Stein I think in some best FA's left article.

He's signing for the bi-annual 1.9M exception or if Indy is interested, a sign and trade for Scalabrene

I feel like Daniels has reached his ceiling and will only be a decent sub or patchwork starter in the league from here on out, but at 1.9 million per year, he is no doubt a steal. Should fit well in Boston where he won't be asked to do more than he's capable of.

I remember him being pretty decent when he played for Dallas. With the Pacers, his production went down. Was there an injury I missed?

He had a 7M deal last season. Surprised he wouldn't wait to see if he could get a better offer before signing a lle deal with the Celts. This economy is screwing with a lot of player signings.

Wafer was more productive than Daniels last year (at least in terms of PER) but I'm guessing that he's going to get a similar type deal in the 2-2.5 mill range.

Will provide some nice scoring off the bench...him+Sheed+House+Tony Allen+Glen Davis/Leon Powe if they are resigned/come back...I say the Celtics have the top bench in the NBA and their Big Four (might as well include Rondo now) and a serviceable center...wow, scary stuff.

I'm actually kinda glad Yao took this year to rest, it's like a nuclear arms race out there.

If Boston stays healthy, they will most likely win the East setting up a rematch of two years ago with the Lakers.

Easier said than done. The Magic and Cavs are stacked also.

I am fully expecting Indy to be interested in Scalabrine as he is white.

Daniels may have set the market price for a SG with his deal. I don't see how Wafers agent can make the case for that Wafer should get more than Daniels plus Marquise took a pretty big pay cut.

The Great Caucasian has a future with Vince MacMahon if this basketball thing doesn't work out.

DD must be smiling big at that good news. Can't say I'm not smiling either though as that is right within the range I deem acceptable for Vee-Dub.

I think Daniels is a good pickup for the bi-annual but I'm not sure how he fits with the Celtics. He'll be solid on defense but offensively he's more of a slasher. He won't be able to knock down that wide open jumper off of their stars' penetration. He could be effective as the pseudo PG next to Eddie House, i guess.

well celtics are going to look strong next season if KG stays healthy, and they even got sheed now incase he isn't. Daniels is a pretty good signing for what they got him for and I think he can definitely be better then what tony allen gives them off the bench.

I guess they won't sign Stephan Marbury now that they have Daniels.

    :D I doubt it.

I would say I was wrong about Marbury but I think everyone was wrong about him. He didn't help the Celtics much but it wasn't because he was a cancer or selfish or anything like that. Actually, Doc had to get on to him about being too unselfish.

The problem with Marbury last year was that he shot an awful 37.7 TS%, that's not fg%...his true shooting percentage was .377  . He couldn't make his 3's, mid-range jumpers, lay ins, he even shot 46% on free throws. The season before he was at 52.7 TS% which is about his career average. No one could have predicted this. Even his detractors conceded that he could score. Even in preseason that year he scored the ball at a decent percentage. I don't know what went wrong, maybe it was all the stress from the drama at the beginning of the season that threw off his shot.

If he retires, this could be the quickest decline I've ever seen.

I think this is a very nice depth move for the Celtics, they were deficient in the backup SG/SF positions last year, playing Stephon Marbury as backup SG essentially, and Daniels can back up both positions and even play a bit of point, for a cheap price.
