ok so I just came back from vacation and notice I'm getting the RRoD. Before going, I noticed my system froze up ALOT and it wasnt in the best shape. So now I'm forced to send it into Microsoft I guess. My question is how long does this process take to get your system back? If it was no longer then 3 to 4 weeks I was going to buy one from Walmart in the meantime to play until mine comes in, then return the one I just purchased back to Walmart. Thanks.
Welcome to the club. If there is anyone out there who has had their 360 for since or around launch who has not got their RRoD yet, then you are a hero or you hardly ever turn it on. Lol
odd, mine went out also last night, last I played it though was like end of last week, when was yours Manufactured? mine was 10-31-07
My friend noticed it was getting fuzzy on the screen, so he said he knew the red lights were coming and it did. He sent it in last Friday, and it just came back today. He also said that he heard the repair center is here somewhere in Texas, so that's why it can be faster than you hear. Hope that helps.
Same here, I bought a HDMI version on release, and I haven't had any problems. I gave my old one to my daughter, and it was bought in 06 and its still kickin.
This should work 1) remove all connections including HDD from the 360 only leaving the AC cord attached. 2) Wrap a towel around the entire thing and make your its properly insulated. 3) Leave it on for 5-6 hours. If that doesn't work then i guess you could just do this...
Oh don't do that man! Because when you that the motherboard overheats and you can damage it for life. You can do xclamp fix by yourself, I did it on my friends console and it worked, but don't do the towel trick, it works for few hours and stops for life.
I've done the towel trick a few times already. The first time it lasted about 3 weeks... The 2nd and 3rd time came a day within each other. All 3 times took no more than an hour. Wrapped with 3 towels and put a think blanket over it. I kept an eye on the light from the power supply until it changed colors. (I think it went from green to orange but not 100%). I have the one light E74 error though.
sweet swapped mine out and get this, it was a transfered warranty where I bought mine off of Craigslist, they refunded me when he got the system for $279.99, so I had a credit of $300 plus, they rang up the arcade for $200, so I had around $90+ credit, i went ahead and just got another 2 year warranty for $50, and I still have like $30 credit, not bad after I bought the system on craigslist for $300 also but with a 20 gig HD, extra controller, and Halo 3
