He was out 7 months with his last injury before he played in the Olympics, 7 months from now would be next March. Nov 2010 is start of the 2010-2011 season, which is looking more likely with the more complicated surgery.

Maybe Biology is a little bit different from Physics? I can not assure you that he will have a full recovery on the foot, but I am not that pessimistic.

Big difference. McGrady played 3 consectutive seasons of 75+ games played in Orlando. He averaged only 8 missed games a season in Orlando.

After Clanton arrived in 2004-05, McGrady averaged 23 missed games a season and can't even get 2 consecutive seasons of 67 games.

That's the same season that Bob Sura and Dion Glover went down. We had 3 guys out! Bob Sura had 2 surgeries, back and knee.

Bob Sura and Dion Glover got "knee surgery". Both players ended their careers.

The banged-up backcourt of the Houston Rockets received more bad news Tuesday.

Guard Bob Sura is scheduled for his second surgery in less than two months, guard Dion Glover underwent knee surgery and guard Rafer Alston is sidelined with a leg fracture, the team announced.

The Rockets already have been playing without superstar swingman Tracy McGrady, who has missed four games due to a balky back. They are 3-7 entering Tuesday night's game against Dallas.

Sura was scheduled to have surgery Tuesday to repair a ruptured disk in his back performed by Dr. Barth Green of the University of Miami. There is no timetable for his return.

Sura, 32, who has had back problems in the past, had the condition diagnosed by Dr. Tom Clanton and orthopedic spine specialist Dr. Rex Marco after having arthroscopic right knee surgery in late September.

Expected to start at point guard, Sura has yet to play this season. Last season, the well-traveled 1995 first-round pick played 61 games while battling a variety of injuries and averaged 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists.

Glover had surgery on his right knee Tuesday in Atlanta, during which Clanton and Dr. Scott Gillogly repaired a bone defect. He requires a healing period of at least six weeks before a timetable for his return can be established.

A 1999 first-round pick, Glover was signed before training camp but also has yet to play this season. He has averaged of 8.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 294 games with Atlanta, Toronto and San Antonio.

Sura's injury was one of the reasons the Rockets traded for Alston, who has been diagnosed with a hairline fracture of his fibula. He will miss the game against Dallas and is listed as day-to-day.

Acquired from Toronto in a preseason deal, Alston is averaging 7.1 points and 4.1 assists. He has averaged 8.2 points and 4.2 assists in 331 games with Milwaukee, Toronto, Miami and Houston.

Aside from McGrady, who missed Sunday's loss at Indiana, Houston's other guards are veterans Derek Anderson, David Wesley, Jon Barry and Moochie Norris and rookie Luther Head.

I was actually semi-happy reading this news today, I was afraid that might be it for his career. Sounds like he will be back and ready to go in a year

Now lets tank and get Chris Wall :p

Pretty much figured it was a season ending injury

At least it isn't career ending.

It might career ending we have no idea. I think if they are really reshaping his foot it might take more than a year to heal.

the big fella's body just wasn't meant for nba basketball. It's a shame injuries have dominated so much of his career.

They are changing the functionality of his foot. Weird science to me. Seems to me if they start with the foot, they better add some padding to knees and hips and lower back.

"Dr. Clanton? I know this made add to the bill a bit, but can you add hops?"
