Dream may have been mild mannered in his older days, but that series he wanted to send a message.
lol i don't know how i can tell you this with a straight face, but i believe i played good defense on him

That TOP 10 reel is amazing. Man, that guy was something else. Also, reminds me how much I miss Calvin Murphy.....and hate hearing Clyde talk.
If you could combine the abilities of our 3 most recent "franchise players" (Francis, Yao, McGrady) into one player, that player still wouldn't touch Hakeem.
Don't know if this one has been put up before. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rpQijTpI3Xo&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rpQijTpI3Xo&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
McHale said something awhile back about jordan. He said that in time, kids will forget about Jordan. It sounds crazy, but its kinda true that kids dont really talk about jordan as much. Dream can be forgotten quickly also because he doesn't live here anymore and has been out the spotlight, but just to watch old film of the guy really makes me feel lucky to have met him numerous times and watched him play from his college days.
Hakeem is so ridiculously underrated among casual people that it's just disgraceful. There will never be anyone remotely close to his skill level for his size. I could watch him play forever and it would never get boring. Such grace and footwork is just beautiful.
He averaged 35 points, 12.5 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 5 assists on 56% shooting in that series. He was truly dominant.
I like that Dream was a MVP. some people here like to glorify people who were MVP candidates. That's like when we had Michael Jackson, but some people here keep thinking LaToya has talent.
Done more than most in my time and by far some of the best memories of my life were watching him play at the summit. He was so good he was undescribable. Watching him made me play bball an extra 2-3 hours a day in inspiration.
If Rocket fans forget about Dream, than the franchise should move. The Rockets and Houston and Dream, that was a perfect combination.
Always nice to watch again. Robinson was a class act though for the way he acknowledged Dream's superiority. You don't see kids like Amare and Lebron respect their opponents like that nowadays.
I love this post. I totally agree. I love Yao, Stevie was fun for a while and Mac is super talented but damn, we were so fortunate to be able to watch true greatness night in and night out for years. Thank you Dream, you will never be forgotten and always be appreciated
From http://www.nba.com/history/players/olajuwon_bio.html : ------------------------------------------- In a Life magazine story, San Antonio's David Robinson seemed perplexed. "Solve Hakeem?" said Robinson. "You don't solve Hakeem." Orlando's Shaquille O'Neal felt the same way after going down in a Finals sweep . "He's got about five moves, then four countermoves," said a stunned O'Neal. " That gives him 20 moves."
