I would have to say Budinger, I was pleasantly surprised with his playmaking ability. Yes it is summer league but I do think his shot will translate on the next level. I think he would play very well off of a star player. I don't usually get very excited about results from SL but I'm expecting him to be a productive NBA player
If Dorsey stays hungry and continues to work he could get some minutes. I thought his passing was very solid, I didn't expect that at all. And yes he was an absolute beast on the boards.
Maarty Leunen has a solid all around game, I think there is a place for him in this league by 2010 at the latest

Wow it looks like the winner already is Chase by and landslide!

He played a lot better and smarter than I expected. I honestly had JT ahead of him in the pecking list not because of the draft number in which they were picked but because of the skill set and athleticism.

He's gonna be the steal of this draft.

Chase earned the title of MVP with his outstanding play on the court. He showed that he can shoot from anywhere on the court. I know it was just SL, but anyone who can shoot 68% from the field, 72% from 3 point land, and 94% from the line is a pretty darn good shooter in my books, no matter what level it's at. He lead the team in all three of those categories, and PPG. He really needs to improve his D though, as defense forces many players to never make it to the NBA. Some people can shoot the lights out (Kinda like Budinger), but not able to play D, so they don't make it. This concerns me as Budinger has the athleticism and some sort of quickness to be able to play D, but he hasn't shown it yet. We will more than likely need him to produce this year, but only if he works up some type of D that can keep him on the court. Also, I gotta mention Dorsey in here. 20 rebounds in one game is a good sign of things to come. He averaged 14.8 over the summer league and as of now leads the league in that category. He's gotta learn how to stay out of foul trouble though, another reason many can't make it all the way. :D

It's true. I feel bad for the guy. I almost wanted to vote for him here; he was a sort of no-stat-all-star of the summer league in that he did all the little things for the team and did them quite smartly. Hopefully the FO takes notice of this and gives him the props that he earned.

Also, is it basically an unwritten rule that at the summer league, team play does not matter but what matters is individuals standing out and scoring points, dishing assists and basically decorating their entry on the box score?

It seems like it is and Brad Newley and a host of other players won't shine because of this. It seems quite cruel to me: survival of the fittest (boxscores).

Question: Whatever happened to Marcus Cousins or Hassan Adams?

Did they make the SL IR or something? I would've liked to see them play some.

Newley might have had a chance, if Yao was healthy and the Rockets ended up with a very low 20s for the first round and low 50s for the 2nd. The 1st pick might have been traded or sent to the nbdl.

He would have a better chance.

Since the Rockets will suck this year, he will be competing for playtime with a #1-14 draft pick and a 31-40 2nd round draft pick. If Morey sees a better SG/SF, it could be the next Rudy Gay at that draft range.

I was trying to tell everyone that he was a waste of a pick the day we made it.

Now i'm saying similar things about Andersen.

I think this board is just so excited to have a Centre that they are going OTT (or a majority seem to have).

I have seen people call him 'Dirk-lite' and comparing him to Scola and Divac FFS.

Alot of BBS'ers are setting themselves up for disapointment. They will be back in force in December/January calling him a flop and a bust and whatever else - not realising or acknowledging it was their own self-generated hype that let them down, not the player himself.

You forgot to add like 6 fouls per game and 10 turnovers. :)

This Bud is for us! C-Bud in a runaway. Dorsey a distant second. Taylor (injured) incomplete. C-Bud has some mad skills and some crazy intangibles. He has special written all over him. I know it is just SL, but you got to be encouraged about his play.

Probably Joey. Chase was nice, but some assists and rebounds would have been good to see too...

Wow, Joey averaged the same amount of APG as the point guard. That's pretty good, I reckon. Now he just needs to cut those TO's down. DORSEY!

Funny that in the game thread for game 1 of summer league, when he had only made like one bucket there were people in the thread saying "Bustinger is nowhere to be seen."

    without a doubt Joey Dorsey.

    he averaged 15rpg 10ppg 3ast 3blk

those are way more impressive numbers than Chase averaging 18ppg
