Yao:surgery ,the sooner the better!

    He is a right handed player and thus usually his left foot is his pivot foot when he's making moves (and thus sustains a lot of stress), since he wants to step with his right foot to take a shot with his right hand.

    According to the article, the recovery time is 8 to 12 months, so best case scenario is a return in March. Dr. Clanton will be participating in the surgery but not be the lead surgeon, that will be done by a doctor from Washington who treated Ilgauskas.

    The doctor that did Z's reconstruction surgery was Dr. Mark Myerson! He's the man. He saved Z from early retirement.

    Out of all the doctors he visited, he decided on Tom freak'n Clanton? The former Houston Rox doc? Wow, just wow... :confused:

    clanton will be participating in the surgery,the main surgeon is from Washinton.

    If the Rockets are in playoff contention and Yao is healed he should play in March/April. If the Rockets are not in playoff contention Yao should just sit out the whole year. That way he has more time to heal and the Rockets get money from the insurance company.

    BTW Yao has a players option for 2010/11
