McGrady announced earlier in the week that he would be changing his jersey from #1 to #3 for publicity... Wow he's getting hated in Cali already. Jeez it just follows him everywhere
Wow, don't know what to think about this one. We would be getting two forwards at 6'6 and 6'8, which I see no point into getting. We still would need a 2, and neither of those guys would fit into our SG slot. Maggette intrigues me though, he might be able to succeed with us, but so could Jackson. Wouldn't make me feel too bad, but definitely wouldn't excite me to death. Yall's thoughts?
That trade would be so sick. I love Jackson and Maggette and the Warriors pick would be pretty high cause they are young and developing. However, it almost makes no sense because we would have too many wing players with Maggette, Battier, Jackson, Ariza, and the young guys we are developing. There would have to be another deal in place, maybe move Battier. But just imagine... Brooks/Lowry Jackson/Budinger/Taylor Ariza/Magette Scola/Landry/Hayes Anderson/Dorsey That is fast, athletic and very dangerous. Let them run this year and than next year add yao...wow
No thanks. Would make sense if Yao was planning on returning but doing this trade gives us 4 starting calibre Sfs in Shane, ariza, Jackson, and maggette. Even with that roster, we would not be contenders.
From a talent standpoint, this puts us back in contention automatically for next season. 2nd round at the very least. But are we better off standing pat for the 2010 sweeps and letting Mac expire rather than helping us stay 2nd tier elite, and trying to cash in in over the next 2-4 years when the Lakers and Spurs will be in a period of rebuilding themselves... there might be a real chance for us to sneak in under everyones guard after next season - with Mags and Jax we are a 'good' team only.
We would definitely look to move Battier if this goes down, can somehow land Boozer in a 3-team trade with Portland and Utah.
Just say no. I got to believe a semi healthy Tmac is better than both of those guys and if not we are not married to him were as those guys have cancer contracts. Plus I think Stephen jackson is a talented thug. I would consider maggete for Chuck Hayes and Cook.
how credible is this source? the Warriors have also asked for Al Harrington's permission to un-retire his #3 jersey so that McGrady can wear it if he joins the Warriors...McGrady announced earlier in the week that he would be changing his jersey from #1 to #3 for publicity... why the hell would Al Harrington's jersey number be retired? am I missing something here?
