Think it would be "do-able" to get both Ming and Butler?

We all know the inevitableness (word?) of getting Ming, but I also hear so much about the Rockets being impressed with Caron Butler...I hope this happens, as much as I hear about this dude...

Wasn't there a thread identical to this one just a few days ago? ... anyway I don't see who you are willing to give up that would get you a high enough pick ...

Trade Steve Francis for Andre Miller, and Cuttino Mobley for Caron Butler.

Houston trades Cato, Kenny Thomas, 15 and 37.

    Cleveland trades T Hill #6

Of course this is a draft day trade only happening if Butler is available at 6. Similar to the Griffin trade. They draft Butler for us and we draft whomever they want. Cleveland gets a starting center and power forward and two draft picks. The Rockets get Butler and Ming out of this draft. This would leave us a little shallow at the center position. Mo T and Griffin could log some time at center as they did last year. There is still free agency and we have an exception.

    Would you do it?
    Would Cleveland do it?

Because it doesn't involve trading Steve and Cuttino...

Katz and Aldridge suggested that Memphis may be willing to trade their #4 selection.

Would Cato and #15 be a good move for:
    Wright and the #4 or
    Swift and the #4?

I would not do it because KT has proved that he a produce, Cato is better than most people say he is. And trading the #15(could be Nachbar or even Woods) plus the 37? For just #6 a T. Hill? No I would not do it.

If the Cavs would be willing to do it, then I would absolutely do that deal. Getting rid of Cato's fat contract AND getting Caron Butler. That's a no brainer.

    No, it is not do-able.

I would do that Cleveland trade mebbe, depending on who's available. Esp for Tsika.

Cleveland wouldn't and would be stupid to.

I could care less about Ty Hill. He could be waived for all I care, his contract ends pretty soon I think.

Hills contract ends in one year. This trade is based on whether or not Butler is available at 6. Cato is better than anyone the Cavs have at center. They could possibly get Stoudemire or Nene if he falls at 15. Cato, KT and Stoudemire would be a huge upgrade over what they have now.

No, Caron will be taken by Denver or Cleveland. It would be hard to get a trade that would get him unless we made a deal with Memphis which !!! hinted was a possibility. I'm not sure if it still is though since Doc said we weren't getting rid of KT. I still think we should trade KT because he has alot of value right now, and Mo and Eddie will be just fine next year.

I hope your kidding when you say Cato is better than anything Cleveland has at center. They have 2 centers that are at least equal to Cato, and they aren't grossly overpaid.

And that doesn't even count Illy. Illy is way better than Cato when healthy.

And if they really want a pf they'll go for Wilcox, not KT.

fact is we have a dirth at PF, I really think it makes sense to move someone if it means getting Butler...Kenny has a surly demeanor and thinks he is a starter. Griffin is probably my favorite player right now for all the right reasons...Mo taylor seems to jell with the team concept better and has great offensive skills. Someone needs to accept serious bench time, and it definitely should not be Griffin...Butler can bring more energy, talent, and probably is willing to rest on the bench for now without being surly, some minutes is what we need from a fresh source...If it makes sense, let's do it.

This also works. MoT, 15 and 37 for Hill and #6 (Butler) :) Do you think Cleveland would except Mo, a mid first round pick and a second round pick for Hill and Butler?

If Butler falls to 6 and a big man like Nene or Stoudemire falls to 15 I think we have a good shot at swinging a deal. Cleveland needs athletic big men and the Rockets are in love with Butler.

I hope Doc Roc is rite. I personally would love to see the Rockets keep KT. However if Griffin is going to be a PF then someone has to go. It looks to me like KT is the odd man out, but I hope its Mo.

Your rite about Illy being better than Cato but he is always injured. Doleac sucks! Mihm has decent offense but is soft and a liability on defense. Diop? Who knows if he will ever amount to anything. They have Ricky Davis, Person and Miller to man the back court. They need a PF and could use a good defensive center. You might hate Cato but he has size, athleticism and is a better defender than any of Clevelands centers. Look at all the ally oops Cato gets from SF. Now put him in Cleveland and think of all the alley oops he would get from Miller who is a lot better passer/assist man than Francis.

Dearth means "a complete lack of"

We have an abundance of PF, not dearth.

Sorry. Dork moment, but didn't want you to continue to misuse the word.
