Something leads me to believe there might be a little something to this...I mean who just makes up trades involving players that nobody knows or has ever heard of? That being said, no way we trade Battier away for crap. Surely we'd get another player or pick out of it.
The Blazers could absorb Battier's salary. Maybe Les wants some of that money he's been shelling out back.
Actually, IF, IF, IF, the trade was true, the Blazers are under the cap and could make the swap. But thats only if Utah matches the offer sheet the Blazers gave to Malisp(sp)
If this was a deal Fernandez has to be involved or someone else. The Rockets have enough depth at the four already. I'm DOWN as along as we get Fernandez, hopefully him and Ariza can hug it out.
there may have been various reasons...but I think its pretty obvious one of them is Morey believed we were never going to compete for a championship and just started rebuilding, or more rather retooling as we don't really have any good pieces to rebuild with. Not trading for or signing any veteran FA's when Spur got Jefferson for nothing and other guys like Shaq, Chander, Marion, also went for nothing means Morey's strategy is to give up on the next season and target a top 5 pick in next year's draft.
