http://sports.espn.go.com/videogames/news/story?id=4105161 Some spots of interest to me. Carson Palmer at #8 for me makes me say "Really, Carson Palmer, Really". Also I think Mario Williams is better then Peppers at this point in their careers, but Peppers is in the top 10.
Thomas Jones rated higher than Maurice Jones-Drew is kind of a joke. Calvin Johnson is a tad low. Old ass Tony Gonzalez that much higher than Gates is a bit strange.
i'm confused why patrick willis has better ratings in everything compared to demarcus ware but they have the same overall grade. I also had no idea that patrick willis was more skilled than demarcus ware.
Agree on Jones, but hopefully Mojo is right behind him and not shown. Calvin, they poorly misjudged his route running and catching in traffic. Should def. be higher Wish they'd downgrade Brady for his injury, but I guess you gotta wait and see how he performs before making that assumption. Carson Palmer seems a bit high, but not ridiculous. Don't have a problem with Tony G vs. Gates. They're close. Can't disagree too much with any individual rating.
Texans full ratings I thought Winston, Schaub, Walter, Andre Davis (63???) and David Anderson were too low. Walter is probably to be expected, but Schaub can't even crack 80 ovr? I know they mean nothing (and they get updated as the season goes along), but it's kind of a sign of respect when the team is good on madden. Plus it makes it funner to play with them.
What about LT? He was not the same player last year. He has no business being considered that high at this point in his career.
Madden overhauled the ratings system this year to spread out talent levels. Now elite players will play significantly better than mediocre players. Star players will stand out! For example, there used to be 20 CBs rated 90, now there are only like 4 CBs rated in the 90s. Thats not accurate, just me trying to demonstrate what has been done. Also QBs in particular now have more pass ratings like short/med/long accuracy, and different releases. Madden is aiming high this year. Higher than God.
He is at that age when RBs usually are never healthy and their careers go. I don't think he is a top 3 RB anymore. Its possible it was just a down year, but more than likely he is on the downside of his career.
gonzalez had a lot more catches and probably was better last year, I know he's old but he put up the number on a fairly piss poor team, combined with he's going to a playoff team.
its going to be a long long time until someone ever passes up emmitt smith in yardage or touchdowns i think. im pretty sure he also leads for both in the playoffs to. they use to say LT was on pace for it. emmitt was a machine. GO COWBOYS
I hate it when things like this and fantasy leagues lump in all defensive positions into one "defense" category. I don't know how much reputation factors in when compared to previous season performance, but Daniels was a top 5 (maybe top 3 cant remember) tight end in catches and yards. His only knock was he only scored 2-3 TDs, but that's on Kubes and the rest of the O also.
Huh...quick thoughts. Falcons just got a hell of a lot funner to play with...though I guess it kinda reflects reality. Still, their players are kinda overrated. Reggie's rating finally makes some sense. I guess everyone's finally caught on to the fact that he's only a slightly-above average RB. I LOLED at Sage's carrying rating at 50, it should be like -238901381923.
Oh I am definitely not contending that he isn't on the downside of his career... I just think people are discounting him a little early. Off the top of my head, a mediocre example would be jamal lewis being 'done' and coming back to have a respectable year. Running backs half a very short shelf life indeed. I am just going to give LT another year before I write him off.
