Should Chunk Hayes start at C on the opening night?

I think so. Andersen should earn his starting job, just like what Scola did.

In the lakers series, the rockets with Hayes as the starting C were 2-2.

Andersen needs to outplay Hayes to get the starting job.

Lol, some of yall rockets fans are deluded. Hayes at best is a backup sf, but since he is too slow and flat footed, we have him playing backup PF.

And now you want him to have a shot at starting center. Look at the size of other NBA centers.

I know everyone thinks Hayes is an unmovable tree on defense, but if you are trying to back down a short tree and its not moving, you can simply shot over it

If Andersen has a really bad training camp, I can see Hayes maybe beginning the season at Center.

    But it's Andersen's to lose.

Again, with Chunk at stating C, the rocket took the champions 2-2!

Andersen never played under nba rules before. I don't think it is good idea to start him at the very beginning.

If hayes starts then we are not contending for a championship.

No way he should start at C

But if he does it will be because there is not a better option, which illustrates how hard it is to replace both Yao and Deke in one offseason

Andersen is the projected backup to Yao Ming. I think Morey is trying to land another big man tho who can will either back up Yao, with Andersen playing pf, or a tall PF (kinda like Aldridge) to start at center until Yao returns

i don't care if the Rockets took the Lakers to 7 games, or 26 games, they lost the series. END OF STORY

Important words! He is not projected as a starting C.

More importantly, I think everyone should EARN his job! Andersen needs to prove he can play in nba league first, just like what Scola did!

Feigen has stated in his blog that the Rockets expect Andersen to start until Yao returns. Morey's not counting on a deal coming along that would interject someone else into the mix.

READ MY LIPS: Scola was literally guaranteed a starting job before he came to the Rockets. Thats where V-Span got screwed over, he didn't iron out every detail before he came over.

If you didn't believe my Scola story, then tell me what other pf we had on the roster that was better than him when the season started.

Morey said that the rockets have to be a top 5 defensive team this year to compete.. An Chuck is the anchor in that.. This is just such a huge for Hayes.. I mean no one ever thought he would be anything in the NBA and now he is perhaps the single most important player on our team because of how everything has (d)evolved..

    Bring out the Chuck Wagon!

When the rockets signed Scola, they expected Scola to be the stating PF as well. But, Scola still needed to earn his starting job. Of course, he outplayed Chunk, and earned the starting job. That is one very important reason why the rockets fans like him so much!

Morey also stated our priority this season is to run, run on defense, run on offense.

Minnesota can't trade Flynn until 10 Aug, they can't package E. Thomas in a trade until 24 Aug. I'd keep an eye on those dates.
