Low: the current-Adam Morrison Hi: Wally Sczerbiak What I like about Chasinger is that he will have a lot of fire since he thinks a lot of teams made mistakes by passing him until the 2nd round. This is how Von Wafer worked and how the old Rashard Lewis had operated. I think J.Dorsey will be a stud, he'll be a NBA player who'll get 8pt and 8reb a game if he plays significant minutes. I really can't wait to see this newly mint team this upcoming season, win, or lose.
Via Blazer fan boards: "I'd also like to acknowledge that Chase Budinger was without a doubt the best player on that court. Not saying he will be the best in 1 month, 1 year, 1 whatever, but tonight he looked fluid. He hit shots from everywhere on the floor, moved the ball well, ran the floor and finished with authority. Basically he made it look easy and even though he only scored 17 points, he did it in less than 20 minutes and was extremely efficient. Trust me, he didn't break a sweat out there."
His general point was, if Morey does not draft allstars in the second round, he amounts to nothing. This is so absurd that one can only apply so much logic and reasoning before realizing the person you are arguing with operates beyond the boundaries of facts and sanity. I would like to respectfully disagree on Lee being one of the best posters around. Ever since Morey's hire, Lee has had an axe to grind. For him, it is personal. And this is reflected in his posts. He has gone out of his way to discredit Morey at every chance he gets. Ignoring facts, reason, or any tenants in the universe of fair and balanced discussion. It irks me to no end reading these senseless drivel. It is like an itch I must scratch, to debunk his many fallacies. And this is nothing personal at all, like I stated in my previous post. This is a discussion board, anything taken seriously would just be silly. I would feel the same need to comment on such insanity if it came from anyone else.
Since he can dish it, I'm sure he can take a harsh word or two. What started as reasonable debate and discussion all but ended when he has to turn to nuggets such as- Morey has to draft allstars in the 2nd round or be deemed worthless. Once he has abandoned reason, graciousness falls on my list of priority.
To abandon sanity in the pursuit of originality. If one should disagree with Morey with valid reason, then valid reason be stated. However to disagree for the sake of originality, then I rather stand on the side of dull.
Don't be too high on this guy, but don't count him out either. At best, he will play out like Landry in his first year in NBA. A solid bench player giving us a few points and a few assists.
It looks like he could be back in March. However, it's Clanton. We all know his timelines end up being longer than originally estimated. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=172092
I think with Yao being out we will really see the type of players we have. We will have to play more team ball and I think Budinger would contribute if AD gives him a chance. He has a quick release and moves well without the ball.
I'm glad Budinger's scoring in the summer league, but I'm more interested to see how his passing is going to hold up in the real games. If his passing and distributing is as good as advertised, the second unit of Lowry, Budinger and Hayes, along with Barry in spots, is going have incredible ball movement, with guys like Landry and Wafer/Taylor/White being the beneficieries. I can imagine Hayes and Budinger in the high post feeding cutters by the end of the season.
Hope so. If this happens He would be the steal of the draft. Morey and Adelman's scouting would be one of the best in the league.
So why do I have one green block? And you have how many? Anyway, remember me when you the throw the ClutchFans lake party in Austin.
I tried to rep you again, but it said I had to spread some rep around...I will hit you when I can. And I would invite you to the lake party, but some of the DDingleberries would be left out. DD
I think he can play a similar role that Grant Hill did, except off the bench. He just has a knack for making the right plays, and plus he can run the floor with guys like AB or Lowry.
I think Keith Van Horn-lite might actually contribute after all. To stay on the court all he needs to do is hit shots and play slightly better defense than Steve Novak did. I think he is capable of that and with his learning curve I think by the end of the season he could be upgraded from very poor defender to below average defender. I can live with that considering all the other defensive players on this team who lack his ability to get themselves good looks within the offense.
Honestly, Leeb, if I hadn't read your posts for years here I'd say you were full of it, had your head far up your rear, to get a clue, and numerous other little comments that go downhill from there. I know Scola doesn't fit your ideal "athletic long 4 that can jump out of the gym," but this is patently rediculous. Look at the links from NBA.com, which I can't embed, where Scola makes contested shots in game 6 of the series against the Fakers, and then watch the videos I posted, which have many examples of Luis making contested shots. Honest to god, did you drink your coffee this morning? With all due respect. http://media.nba.com/video/channels/playoffs/2009/05/15/nba_20090514_scola_presser.nba/ http://media.nba.com/video/channels/playoffs/2009/05/15/nba_20090514_scola_presser.nba/ You don't see a couple of contested shots in those short videos? You're blind. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oY8XukqQqP4&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oY8XukqQqP4&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aBEWnlpNwqw&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aBEWnlpNwqw&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DWcoMGPsmt8&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DWcoMGPsmt8&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tp3ruFg06nc&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tp3ruFg06nc&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
We need him to contribute this year. And he probably will have to contribute alot if we are going to be able to score enough points to win games. The problem is that we all know we need some additional scoring. Losing Yao really aggrevates the loss of TMac and Artest which takes quite a bit of points off the table for a team that struggled to score with those players. We all assume that Scola, Brooks and hopefully Ariza will pick up some of the load, but there is no one to double team on the starting roster. When you don't have someone the other team has to double and someone to go to on the offensive end you usually end up with a pretty good lottery pick. I hope Budinger is a good contributor, would be sweet to get about 12 ppg from him his rookie season. I think we still need another scorer and I think Morey is working on it.
