Hey there. Who plays an instrument or produces music? If you do, state instruments you play, your genre(s) and what equipment (instruments or studio) that you have.

I play guitar, bass, vocals and I also produce hip hop.

    Equipment:
    - cheap classical nylon string guitar
    - crappy Telecaster imitation
    - a beautiful Takamine D Series steel-string acoustic
    - Rhode NT1A condenser Mic
    - Edirol MIDI keyboard
    - Cheapo Beringher firewire interface
    - Even more cheapo Beringher mic tube preamp

    Software:
    - Cubase 4
    - Ableton Live 6
    - Reason (a lite version)
    - I also use pro tools at university.

If anyone's interested, I have some audio posted on my myspace (in my sig).

    So what do YOU have?

Play a Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 in Emerald Green and a Gibson Les Paul Standard in natural finish through a Marshall JCM 900 head and quad box.

Use Boss DS-1 Distortion Pedal, Cry Baby Wah, Ibanez super Chorus pedal, Boss MT-2 Metal pedal, Boss TU-2 Chromatic tuner pedal, also use the amp's natural sounds too. I can play bass and play the drums aswell, but the guitars are where it is at for me. If any of you want to see the axe's I'm playing I'll try and post pics of them :)

There are a number of professional (at least full-time or part-time musicians) on board. It's early, so I'm surely forgetting folks, but some who come to mind:

    Jeff - bass player

    Rocketman Tex - blues guitar

rocketsjudoka - the growing genre of Asian / Irish folk music (?)

    ima_drummer2k - well, drums...

that Flamin' Hellcats guy - OddsOn is it?

I haven't played out live in a while - work has been keeping me busy, but I used to play out quite a bit (pretty much all kinds of music) before I moved back to Houston. I grew up playing electric and upright bass (a 90s Pedulla MVP & a 60s Kay upright), but I started playing electric guitar about 8 years ago. The current fleet is in my signature, but including the basses, is:

    1. 1968 Rickenbacker 360
    2. 2007 Gibson Custom Shop Non-Reverse Firebird
    3. 1966 Guild Starfire XII (12-string)
    4. A more recent Vox AC-30 CC (the Chinese-made single speaker version - it sounds incredible)

I rap. But I usually have to wait until something tragic or deep happens in my life. My last rap was about why the sacker kid almost dented the Mercedes while retrieving carts. I should have capped his ass.

I play piano, drums, and minimal guitar.

Piano--I can play some Bach, Beethoven, Yanni, Clayderman.. If you have sheet music and I have time and patience, I can play it..maybe not the super-advanced stuff.. but most of the basic and intermediate stuff

Drums--Not much variety here.. I can't do the crazy all-out metal stuff, but I can play basic rock and keep a cool rap beat.. I used to play for my church.

Guitar--I have limited knowledge here.. know basic chords, C scale, and can play some songs like "time of your life" and "wonderwall.

I like to sing, too.. so if we go to karaoke, watch out!

I play the geetar and record music for myself occasionally. I have -

    An Ibanez Artcore semi-hollow.
A Tanglewood acoustic (I think its a British band).
My other electric is a Squier Strat, my first guitar.
A Marshall amp with a G4 effects pedal.
    An ASUS drum machine.
And a bass that I rarely play.

Nothing fancy, just stuff to pass the time. I do want to get a better strat though.

    As well
Went to UIL for solo and ensemble back in high school. Got a 2 on a class 1 solo only because I got the music a week before the show. Ive got so many medals and all that from playing. I want to play in college but it takes up way too much time, especially being a biology major. Marching band has practice from 5pm to almost 12 am during football season. Sometimes longer than that depending on who they play.
Im so jealous. Ive been trying to get ahold to a soprano sax for the longest everytime i have the funds to get 1 something comes up.

I play flute/piccolo (maching/concert. I own an armstrong(flute) and I have no clue what brand the other 1 is. Someone stole my piccolo back in high school.)
play all sax's (for jazz band)
clarinet (not my best but I can still play)
played oboe for about a year for concert band
