My point is people care about the 40 points he scored than if the team won or not. I remembered when Rocket fans cared about winning, "remember when Mario won the game against Phoenix", "Remember Ralph Sampson beat the Lakers", "remember when Dream blocked Starks" When Dream destroyed David Robinson, I didn't remember how many points he scored, I know it was alot, I just remembered the domination for ALL QUARTERS (no he got tired, BS) and that we won.
LOL Tinman. You should have been an Aggie. Every statement out of their mouths start with "remember when"... then its wrecking crew this, Dat Nguyen that.
He's like a Twilight Zone episode. Time stopped around 1995 for him - everybody else just kept going.
Normally I try to just stick with the topic of the thread but your hatred for T-Mac on every thread is past ridiculous. So if we can't trade you & your two cent thoughts for 2 wooden nickels and a case of warm beer, how about we just waive you from this BBS? I'm just saying...
I totally agree that we should wait it out and see what he can do. Obviously, no one is going to give us their All-Star in return for Tracy. If they do, we'll have to throw in Brooks, Landry, or Scola (at least 2 of the 3). I'm not willing to do that. Our team IS NOT in rebuilding mode. We just need to plug in an All-Star or two into our current team and we'll be a championship contender again. And the good thing is, Tmac and Yao only have a year left on their contract anyway. So basically, we'll have the money to sign an All-Star and another good scorer in a year IF Yao and Tracy dont come back. The thing that has me sold on keeping Tracy around is the fact that he's making 23 million this season. He and his agent know damn well he wont ever make 23 million again over 1 season while he's in the NBA. So, best case scenario, Tracy comes back healthy and playing 75-85% of what he used to be. Knowing he's not worth 23 million, we can probably get him signed for about 9-12 million a year for 2 seasons. If his career turns around, he may be able to get big bucks after those 2 seasons. With the extra 10+ million left over from his contract, we can go out and get another proven scorer. By then, we'll know more about Yao's condition and we can probably do the same with him (give him 9-12 mil a year for 2 seasons til he proves he's healthy enough to play and also get another scorer). I'm not too worried about our Rockets. Our main core of players are very young and only getting better. We have one of the best coaches in the NBA and the BEST GM in Morey, plus Les is a great owner and never says we cant afford to get a player we're after. Give it a year or two and we'll be back in the Championship mix.
i hope t-mac can comeback healthy and help this team make the playoffs... i believe ariza, brooks, and scola, will flourish with a healthy mcgrady heck even hayes gets points with all those passes mcgrady would assist him with.... since were gonna be playing uptempo i cant wait ....its gonna remind you of how we played when we won 22 games... after yao went down we won 10 more games playing great b-ball... possible line-up when t-mac returns... brooks/lowry t-mac/taylor/barry ariza/battier/budinger scola/landry/hayes andersen/dorsey/wilcox if he signs with us/ yao - out for the year this team can compete in the playoffs i cant wait to see the rockets play
I like the 'be patient with McGrady' title. Like we haven't been patient since Steve got traded! We've been so patient that we watched the Spurs and Lakers and Pistons and even the Boston Celtics win championships. We've been so patient that the Lakers could retool and win another title without Shaq. We've been so patient we watched other teams having MVPs, not MVP 'candidates'. We've been so patient that we got Steve Francis back!
Well he did have a point. Whats the point of destroying the other team if you still lose? Also, most superstars would turn up the heat in the fourth, tired or not.
from that game, you can see tracy CAN PLAY OFF THE BALL. he just needs to be healthy to be able to move like that. hopefully his knee allows him to regain at least somewhat of that movement b/c adelman's system will allow him to dominate easier.
you would be right if that microfracture surgery was an invasive one and on a weight-bearing part of his knee. his surgery wasn't. it might take him awhile to regain his game/rhythm b/c he hasn't completely dominated a game for a LONG time now.
Rockets should keep on collecting assets via trades or FA. That could add to payroll. Solution, send McGrady to the Knicks in a salary dump. Rockets clear LT and completely spoil Utah's chances of landing a lottery pick if McGrady can get it going next season.
Don't confuse the people here with that stuff. They don't know what the Twilight Zone is dude. They probably think you talking about some movie with teenage vampires wearing orlando adidas shirts.
wow he's not exactly the athletic Orlando Tmac there but he's healthy, I truly believe he can get back to where he was 2 years ago too bad we'll only enjoy it for half a season and it's adios.
Yeh he was really decisive in that video. No hesitation. The thing that impresses me most though is the skill. And that's something that will never leave him. His jump shot is so smooth when he's in a rhythm. When he's just catching the ball and rising and shooting like that, he's unstoppable. Those shots are devastating to a defense because there's literally nothing you can do to defend it.
We won that game and T-Mac scored 11 points in the 4th... http://www.nba.com/games/20071101/HOUUTA/boxscore.html
So your assumption is that when someone says McGrady will score 40 points, it means that the 40 points is the core of what is being said? Scoring 40 points multiple times this season is something that I believe McGrady will do. I brought it up not because I love 40 point games, but because it will be a sign, a testament, of McGrady still being able to play basketball.
nobody mentioned the Rockets won that game til later in the thread. So Tmac has to score 40 points as a sign that he could still play right? What about Yao? does he have to score 30 points to prove that he can play after injury? So what's the sign that he's not worth the 23 million dollars that we're paying him? another Laker championship? another Spurs championship? Lebron winning another mvp? I personally think the 'be patient' part is over. Are we going to be patient again that another thread will have a noun after the word 'with'?
