Anybody work for BP? What is it like to work there. I may have the opportunity and I'm looking for some insight. Also, how is the job scale system set up. What would be considered a low, mid, high level position on their internal scale?
The position is in a process/project organization in corporate finance working with finance reference data and the processes around it. Its hard to say since its a corporate job and not something to do with exploration or production in the business. I'm not exactly sure how BP organizes their corporate structure. In some companies the position would be in finance, in others in a admin or project org. I've heard feedback that if you come in at the right level on their internal scale, you are good to go for several years, but if you come in a level or two too low, its hard to get the bumps up to the right level for promotion.
Hey, I work at BP.. been there since January as a tax analyst, but I can't really answer your question. BP is a great place to work though and they have a great culture.. I actually don't work on campus--we'll be moving back there sometime next yr--but the campus is really nice. BP treats their employees very well, and they have a very green culture and are pretty integrated in community work, etc. They like new ideas and are pretty liberal.. very diverse. Corporate finance would probably be part of the FC&A business at BP. (Financial Control and Accounting). The finance and accounting is pretty integrated, and we actually have a couple of finance/tax guys that work in the tax building I'm in.
No idea, but you and I have the same number of posts now.. congrats. You can probably get a good ballpark figure just googling it though.. BP is pretty competitive with rates, so they will be around, if not more, than industry average.
