    I knew it.

First Chase and now somehow coincidentally Morey picks up this random guy that we happened to have a thread on here too.

    Morey FTW!

M_Cable - good job. I gave you a well deserved boost in rep for the early scoop.

...good find m_cable. I had never heard of this guy before I read your post. I hope he pans out and becomes a capable backup to Yao and fill-in starter for part of next year until he returns.

I would rep you if I could - great job on breaking the original story. After watching some of these videos, I'm really excited about this. He seems like a versatile big - able to shoot outside, can play above the rim, works for boards, not scared to go at the defender aggressively in the paint. The other thing I liked about him from watching the videos was it seems like he is constantly giving the defender different looks in the post and reading how they cover him. I bet he is a tough cover because he makes his defender work to cover him in the post and of course you can't stray too far from him on the perimeter because of his range.

He will probably have some problems with NBA athleticism, but given there are relatively few decent centers in the league I don't think it's unreasonable to expect he ends up being a middle of the pack type of center. At worst he is as good as the stiffs we have to choose from off the waiver wire right now and at best, an absolute steal.

Capable NBA back-up? Come on guys. Even in his highlight video, I can't find an inside shot that wouldn't get swatted in the Big East.

Maybe y'all are hoping for the rebirth of Bullard or something. this dude will not be an NBA center.

Strange how EVERY post you make on a European player is blatantly racist.

The US agent for Andersen & Newley is Leon Rose. Morey's laying the groundwork for 2010...

He has absolutely no hops. He is big and tall and can clog the lanes. He has a nice J as well. I am not sure about his D. He would be a decent backup.

Joey D would be a better backup IMO who i think is a poor man version of Ben Wallace.

I'm with you, but some people are thinking he's going to be a major player for us. I'm hating the hype, not the Anderson.

Is he "The One"?? :D :D

IDK too much about this guy. Having to rely on someone who hasn't played in the NBA is asking for a lot. Who starts Dorsey or Mr. Andersen

Who's thinking he is going to be a major player? Most comments are that he may be a capable backup Center. There aren't a lot of good starting centers in the league, much less capable backups.

Closing this thread since it was just bumped and we have multiple David Anderson threads now discussing the same thing.
