I keep hearing these rumors that he is nearing 7' in height and that he has gained 20 lbs. Truth is though I have seen no confirmation of this and as of last season he was not a legit power forward because of his size. Are any of these rumors true? I really want to know, because obviously he is untouchable so how does this effect our draft. And by the way he did play the 3 effectively in limited playing time and was good there until he hit the rookie wall. Please tell me if you know.

DON'T KNOW ANY ANSWERS...BUT EDDIE GRIFFIN IS THE MAN!!!!

He should have gone #1 last year and the Rox have him for keeps. I hope to He!! they don't trade him? I haven't seen anything other than this board suggesting that, so I still sleep well.

FACES WILL CHANGE ON THE ROCKETS, BUT NOT EG, GOD WILLING! HE'S TAKING US BACK TO THE PROMISE LAND!

and if he's reached near 7 feet and added 20+lbs, I'm glad I'm not an opposing guard thinking that I'll drive the lane on the Rox!

The last thing I heard was that he was closing in on 7' though no one was sure if he'd get there or not. He is probably 6'11" by now which is really good enough.

Don't know about his weight or overall health. News on him has been sparse.

If Griffin grew 3 inches from the day the Rockets drafted him, hell as fricken yes I'm happy. Twin towers. But, I kept hearing that he was only 6'10 by the end of the season; so has he grown an inch since the end of their season?

Wow, if we can have two 7 footers manning the front line, block alley, here we come. Hakeems blocking records may be in jeopardy!

He actually hit 6'10" early on in the season - December or January if I remember correctly. To gain another inch in 6 or 8 months wouldn't be really out of the question.

Even though he is 7 foot, he was skinny as a bean pole when he was on the court. I know he is young and he has baby fat on him, but he needs to bulk up so he bang underneath for us to get those needed offensive rebounds!!!

He was skinny, so skinny that there wasn't an ounce of baby fat on him really. The rumor, or unconfirmed report if you will, says that he added 2 inches and 20 pounds. 7 feet 240 is not bad for a PF. Rasheed Wallace is 6' 11" 225, and I think these two could have similar games. If that didn't intrigue, remember that EG isn't a crazy mofo on the court like sheed is, so imagine Wallace if he could control himself and utilize his skills.

There is no way that Griffin is 7 feet 240, that is insane. You people need to wake up! How is someone going to go from 6-9 to 7-0 and 215 to 240? Wake up!!

during the season it was rumored that he went from 6'9" to 6'10" and from 215 to 225.

from the end of the season untill now it is rumored that he went from 6'10" to 6'11" and from 225 to 240.

adding 15lbs in an offseason is very possible and dont forget how young eddie is. he can still grow.

True he is only 19, but he is allready 6-9! How many 19 year olds do you know at 19 still growing when they are 6-9? It seems like every year rumors like this allways come up. If he has gotten bigger than I would say he is 6-10 225-230, but maybe I am wrong, a 7 foot Griffin would go real nice with this team!

He was 6' 10" when the season started and 220 according to the Rockets website. Who knows wheter he has grown or not, but if he did, it is definately a nice bonus. If things don't work out with Ming, at least he'd be able to log more minutes at the center position.

yes, he could spell minutes in case the other centers get in foul trouble or something.

Doesn't matter if he's 5'9" or 6'9", if it's in his genes to grow after 19, he will. Garnett did. So did Eric Davis.

Wasn't David Robinson only like 6'5" when he showed up at the Academy as a Freshman (18yrs old)? So why can't Eddie grow a few more inches?

David Robinson grew about 7 inches while at the Naval Academy.
Dennis Rodman grew 7-9 inches after high school (he was only about 5-11 in high school).
Bill Russell grew another 5 inches or so after high school.
    There are others...

To say that Griff could have grown 2-3 inches over 1 year wouldn't be a reach especially at his height.

I'm scrolling down this thread thinking man he reminds me of Garnett -- then sure enough
Wonder if he'll keep his height listed under 7' like K.G.?
