I don't think that will work.. you will end up with holes around Ariza because it's a shorter name. If Sura can have Francis' number after he left, I have no problem with Tmac having it.
if you watch how he played for 5 games or so when he returns from his "time offs" last year, he played pretty well and moved pretty well. i'm sure the rest did the knee some good. then he looked slow and couldn't jump, as the knee got sore. he already said he felt better knee-wise than he did all of last yr, which is a great sign. he still has plenty of game. we'll see if he can regain his all-nba form.
Why does Francis have a special place in anyone's heart anymore? Sure he played hard (though not very smart) and he stuck up for Yao his first run in Houston. But since then, he's also shown to be a whiny, petulant brat with a tremendous sense of entitlement. I would think that most Rockets fans are more than ready to move on from the memory of Francis. I know I am. By the way, nice pick-up on the jersey # change, one of the many reasons CF is awesome.
While I certainly cant speak for anyone but myself I know a lot of people who still appreciate what Francis did during his first run out here. At least for me I will always root for the players that started off their career in houston. He played hard and his huge career mistake was not getting his knee surgery in Orlando and trying to just rest and have it heal on its own, he never was right and was showing some signs of life 2 seasons ago before he went out with another injury. I hope someone gives him a chance next year, I think he has some game left, he certainly wont be a starting 5 type player of course but a good 7-8th man off the bench
That's funny. I have a Francis jersey I was wondering if I could get "McGrady" stitched on......or NOT! P.S. Nice job reporting the Ariza number change. I know you took some heat for that. Vindication is yours!
Sura played like francis did and thats why he endeared himself to fans here even though he played 3/4 of a season. i think its a honorable thing that McGrady is doing (his whole Darfur movement) and i hope more players get involved but I dont think there are going to be a lot of #3 jerseys flying off the shelves thats all
its just how it goes, you say one thing everyone will say another i just pass along whatever i am told that i feel is substantial enough. its not like any of the posters who I respect here on the board criticized me most of the time it was the new folks
Don't get me wrong, I was a huge Francis fan his first run through Houston. But his attitude after he left Houston was pretty poor, and it didn't seem to improve after he left. I think in his mind he was always the high-flying all-star and his ego couldn't really take the fact that he wasn't anymore. I'd be glad to see him make a decent comeback, but he got a second chance in Houston and it didn't seem like he put much effort into returning.
A-MEN Im sick and tired of Antisonic crapping all over every thread that has anything at all to do with mcgrady. Post your opinion in the thread and just leave it at that....I think everyone knows what you think, and quite frankly your constant stream of crap in a thread makes it unreadable for anyone else. Oh yeah.... all you putzes that crapped on YoYO about his scoop....you betta start apologizing.
I think he was joking with all the words play. BtW she doesn't look that attractive in that still pic, the makeup makes her look so weird and old BTW. I don't know what's the hate with T-MAC. I understand the frustration you guys and I had for him supposedly quitting, especially not telling anyone but Mr. Smith. But Tracy did try to play through the pain, way early in the season he stated that his shoulder were still a little messed up and his knee is not 100%, but the DOCTOR told him he can play so he did. BUT later the doctor admitted that he was wrong and Tracy was not ready yet. So it is not all #1's fault. Tracy skipping back to back games and missing that easy dunk attempt was a sign, no it's not signs that he quits or he has no heart, but it's a sign that he's not ok. As we all know, Tracy is a private guy, and on one of the vid I saw he was talking about him seriously hurting over and over again. And I remember that clip was part of an interview where Calvin Murphy was asked questions about T-MAC and he say if the doctor let Tracy play then he CAN play, Calvin Murphy is basically thinking like us, but in reality Tracy was NEVER ready, the doctor messed up, we were misinformed, and somehow all that translate to this madness. Put yourself in Tracy's shoe in this situation, if your doctor say you can play then you will because you love the game and you wanted to win as much as anyone on the team, but instead the doctor was wrong and you got screwed into thinking that you will be fine, and then having all this negative thoughts from your fans thinking that you quit is just unacceptable. Tracy knows he let people down, he understands that and he wants to prove to us that he will contribute once healthy. I'm only talking about this season, if you think back about the last season, the reason his knee was so messed up to begin with is because he tried to will his way through the end of the 22 games winning streak and vs the Jazz without Yao. I see no quit in that. None at all. Please enlighten me if I'm wrong, but I think this hatred is too much. Remember, hating on someone is like burning down your house to get rid of a rat.
what's the best way to get an Ariza swingman jersey now? Would like to get one of those instead of a replica.
Great, glad to see that you care about Tracy. See, when you say that you can care less, that means you do care. If you couldn't care less then, well, you don't care at all. Welcome back aboard the bandwagon!
