me to. he is young sign him up. its been a long long time since we didnt have a OLD team. hell when we had harrington, dickerson, mobley we still had hakeem and barkley i think. i guess for maybe 2 years after that we had a young team ending in getting beat by another old team the lakers in the playoffs and that resulted in getting juwon howard who was playing old when he got here.
Haha, I've never thought about that. Rick A. who dealt with Ron-Ron all season lost his patience with the founder of the bro-hawk. too funny.
I have a problem with people being so hesitant just because he got thrown out of one game. I'm sure people make mistakes, right? I like Von, not as much as DD, but I'm not against keeping him. However, I am against overpaying to keep him since there is so much uncertainty about how he will react given a greater role.
I agree. Von is flat out an exciting player to watch. And this is from a guy who values defense over offense by a long shot. But at the end of the day, he is a one dimensional player and the contract has to reflect that. If he/his agent have an over inflated opinion of his value we probably should let him walk. On the other hand, if a fair price can be arrived at - sign him.
Don't get wrong, I'm all for keeping Von myself, but not for anything more than $2mil tops and a non-guaranteed contract. He is not a cornerstone nor anything more than a role-player who can score (in bunches) when playing within the system.
come on, none of us would be able to post on a mandarin or cantonese board. give the guy some props for having enough confidence to post in a foreign language. the NBA is an international game! i welcome our chinese and turkish and iranian and german brothers and sisters, and anyone else. for the rox, especially, our international fan base is what makes us cooler than so many other cities. we're all in the GARM for the same reason. can't we all just get along?
Von? Really? If he does then I would offer our full mid level to Marvin Williams and dare them to match!
Elston Turner said on the summer league broadcast that Von is a question mark as far as coming back. If anybody offers Von 2M or more, I think he's gone. Morey will gamble that Taylor and Buedinger can replace him, they look pretty good so far in the summer league.
If Von leaves for a reasonable contract, the Rockets will be kicking themselves for years. He is going to get better and better....and it should be in Houston. DD
If he's going to take minutes away from Budinger then let him go. If Budinger keeps it up he is the real deal.
The Magic have less than 2m left of their MLE. Would be curious to see how that's going. I'm honestly a bit surprised there isn't more interest in Wafer.
IIRC, the players that get under 3 million are usually the last to sign...they hold out hoping for more money then the market sort of puts them in their place. That is where Von is...just like Landry last year... DD
Did youi see Budinger play today? He was making 3s, mid-range jumpers, drop step post moves and driving to the basket. Looks like a high bball IQ player as well, wasn't impulsive and jacking up shots because he was on fire. You can't tell from summer league games because Von sucked last summer but I like Budinger's skills.
