Haven't read all 32 pages (sorry), but where was Taylor? I thought he would have been the featured player.

Taylor was out with a hamstring injury. No word on how severe it is. Hope he can play some games here but hammy's are notoriously tricky injuries and the Rox have back to back games the next two days.

Will there be a (hopefully free) replay of the game available?

I checked the play by play and it LOOKED like Chase impressed with a couple of "reverse lay up shots." Did he managed to show off his open court athleticism......besides that open layup? What was that about anyways? Was it eerily similar to the Tmac blown DUNK?

Actually, Brooks had a solid summer league last year. It's just that he used the time to work on his PG skills (passing, setting up the offense, assisting other players) iinstead of looking to score like he did the year before.

My take is that coaches use the summer league to get second year players to improve on specific areas of weakness. Because of this, the players may look a little awkward and out of sorts, but it is intentional and part of their development. I didn't see this game, but I'd think this is part of what's happening with guys like Dorsey and White.

Also, summer league teams can look awful without a good PG in there. The concept of teamwork can fly out the window.

He wasn't on a fast break or anything like T-mac... I think Dorsey stole the ball after the rebound, Chase was by the goal.. it was a mediocre pass from Dorsey... then Chase blew the layup

Yeah I guess Brooks had a good SL in the sense of Assists/TO (7.0/2.8) over the 5 games, but he also shot 37% total with 20% on threes, which I think he at the time chalked up to the fact you pointed out, that coaches asked him to work on his passing so his shot had been rusty at the time. But the point remains that shooting % in the SL has no correlation whatsoever to season shooting % (Mike Harris was at 59.2%).

I actually thought it was a pretty nice pass. Anytime the basketball leaves the field of vision of the camera, that's a nice pass if the guy at the other end can catch it. Budinger just blew it. But yeah he had made plenty of layups prior to that one so no biggie.

Because he's a linear athlete like chase, joe alexander and even a wr like troy williamson. What makes guys a really good athlete is the ability to change directions and still explode through with balance. Like Carmello isn't a great athlete, but he can explode vertical and horizontally with contact. When he gets by his man, they don't close the gap either. That's what some people miss when I talk about being athletic. Swift was athletic but he can't maintain his power and explosion through horiizontal moves like someone amare, brand, or even a guy like landry. There is a huge difference.

Is there a video of Dorsey's slam? I haven't seen it, and the NBA has apparently pulled a LeBron in that recap highlight reel

That's too bad. I was looking forward to seeing him play. How did White do?

just got in did the rockets win?? even tho it is summer league it really doesn't matter but for the guys that saw the game how was James White and Dorsey. Those are the two guys that I really care since they just might be huge pieces to the Rockets this upcoming season

Joey is off to a good start on rebounding and Chase obviously had some nerves (missing an open lay-up) though I think once he plays more and loosens up then we'll see more to chases game.

I've seen James White play so much better... I think he was just trying a little to hard.

Why won't the on-demand NBA stream I paid for work? I keep demanding, and it keeps saying the game hasn't started yet. David Stern, get it in gear!

Finally got it to work, this morning. A few random notes: Conroy might be a keeper, a third PG. Budinger looks like a coaster--if he keeps playing like that, bye-bye. Dorsey looks strong. Hope we get to see Taylor tonight.

I think J. Taylor will be playing tonight, because yesterday the announcers said he was warming up and shooting around during pre-game and looked fine. He sat out yesterday's game as a safety precaution.

That's not entirely accurate. They said he was shooting around before the game but wasn't exerting himself.

If you've ever had a hamstring injury, you know that going through the motions is entirely different from full speed.

Oh, I know.........I just don't think others do...it is why I loved Lewis Lloyd, or Manu Ginobli and their abilities to change directions and thus angles.

    Von does that to BTW.
